To live up to my board name, I've got to throw my two cents out there for Coffee Bean and Tramonte's.

At Coffee Bean, I actually like the turkey burger more, but the burger is solid. I love the Tramonte's burger, but like somebody mentioned, it's different with a lot of seasoning and what not mixed into the ground patty. Some complain it's like you're eating a meatloaf burger, there's so much stuff mixed in there.

I think they are both good enough that the quest won't be complete without giving both a shot.

Had Dempsey's today for lunch....Cheeseburger was terrible. Dry, no flavor, patty too firm/packed.

I was at the Coursey location, so I might give them another shot at the Jefferson location, but I definitely was not impressed with the burger....actually one of the worst I've ever had in Baton Rouge.

Akasha's pound burger combo was my favorite BR meal, absolutely delicious and filling. The big cheesy Lou at Louie's is probably my second favorite

Dempsey's isn't known for their burger but I'd give them another shot. I've eaten it quite a bit and, while it's not tops in BR, it's not usually terrible either. Might have been an off day.

we had some of their other stuff as well, and I was pretty pleased with everything else (fried catfish, jambalaya, boudin balls, hush puppies).

I'll definitely go back to Dempsey's, just not for the burger. I like the menu choices and the "vibe" of the place....just wasn't impressed at all with the cheeseburger on this visit.

Brewbachers is just a dry burger IMO....I put it in the "decent" category, because it is edible, just simply nothing special that seperates itself as one of Baton Rouge's better burgers.

Mugshots, falling in the same "decent burger" category as Brewbachers, is a lot closer than Brewbachers to being in the "good" category. Their burger actually has a decent flavor, it's just not on the same level as places like Dearman's/Curbside/RiversidePatty.

My main mission here is to find the burgers that really stand out....those that are truly "excellent burgers." (the best of the best)....Some of the ones below excellent are hard to categorize IMO, because I'm really trying to seperate the truly excellent burgers from everyone else.

If flavor in the patty is a big criteria for you, you should really try Tramonte's. Again, you might be turned off by what they do, but even if you are, you have to give them credit for being different.

Tramonte's flavor is awesome. I just don't like the consistency of the meat. Feels like I'm eating meatloaf.

Mason's is just incredible.

yeah, i like the tramonte's burger myself as well .. i just wish they could pack that taste into more of a traditional hamburger patty rather than mama's meatloaf ..

Mason's just didn't blow me away the last time I went.

Bistro Byronz is where it's at.

I can't believe that in 6 pages, nobody mentioned DOWNTOWN SEAFOOD. (it's on 3rd st. accross from the Roux House and Stroube's)

Dude sells just as many burgers as seafood, if not more.

Dearman's sucks, and the one inside the courthouse is even worse than the bocage location.

Then you haven't tried Magnolia Grill just down the street.

I haven't read all six pages, but the Londoner burger is worthy of rating.
