The DLT was great. The styrofoam container with the sides separated.

I also used to like the Arch deluxe a lot with the red onions and special sauce.

It's not the "original" Big Mac. When McDonald's started, the only patty size was a 10:1 (1.6 ounces). The Big Mac was and is just 2 of those patties. The QPC came out and is a 4:1 (4 ounces) patty.

The Angus burgers McDonald's had was a 3:1 patty (5.3 ounces).

For a limited time, McDonald's is now using a 6:1 patty (2.6 ounces) for the Grand Mac and the Big Mac, Jr. The Grand Mac is a traditional build with a bigger bun and patties. The Jr is one of the new bigger patties without the 3rd piece of bread. As of now it's only around for a limited time. If successful I could see it coming back as either a permanent option or a seasonal option.

I work in advertising and marketing and McD's is a client.

Convince them to sell triple QP's like whataburger. I'm tired of people looking at me stupid when i order a large double qp meal with an extra qp burger.

The shrinking isn't about health. Easy way for them to save money. Most fast food is smaller than it used to be.

Now, they have made the sandwich so small, they can introduce something closer to the original size and charge more.

profit.

Hell, BK stopped cutting their chicken sandwich in half because it got too small to cut in half.

They should do it for you. I joked with an owner when I first started I wish I could order that. He said he'll make anything you want. I remember one time I was running some errands on Christmas Eve in the afternoon. I was hungry after missing lunch so I went through a drive through and ordered a DQPC. Somebody messed up and used the Angus patties. Best McD's sandwich I ever had!

A lot of comments on people never trying a Big Mac before in this thread. That's what drove this new promotion. A very high percentage of Millenials have never tried a Big Mac before. The extra bread is a turn off to many (and a selling point for others). The hope is the smaller Big Mac drives many to try it and become more regular customers.

this thread piqued my interest and I tried one for lunch. I'm indifferent about it. I was expecting a thicker patty but it was only wider. I might give it another try

I also tried one today. It was about 1 pm and when I drove up, the cashier immediately asked if I wanted to try a Grand Mac. I said yes. I drove around and she was so pleased because I was the 1st person to order one from her. She said they had been offering them for a few days.

As for the sandwich, it was a good size - I'm sure bigger than original Big Macs. But I think the patties may have been sitting around a while because they were on the dry side.

And the sandwich would have been better if they had spread the secret sauce around the whole bun. That also contributed to the dryness. It also suffered from what I commonly see in a Big Mac - the sauce eats through the bread making the burger want to fall apart. That secret sauce must be related to lava.
