Great food would be a plus, but I'll take what I can get.

Best patio in BR is Rum House. Food varies between pretty good to mediocre.

Tsunami has a great rooftop view of the river if you're looking for sushi.
Rum House also has a nice outdoor patio.

Galatoire's has a nice outdoor patio/seating area. The view isn't wonderful as it's on Perkins, but the atmosphere in the area is very enjoyable.

The Overpass Merchant has a patio, but it's crazy loud due to the interstate above it.

City Pork II on Jefferson has a nice patio.

I second Byronz.

Mike Andersons has a very nice patio.

Rum House, Red Zeppelin, Zippys, Bin 77, Lava Cantina, California Pizza Kitchen, Caliente, La Caretta, The Merchant, and Bulldog all have pretty good outdoor patios. Depending on what you want, you can find cheap food, expensive food, good food, bad food, or bar food.

I wish baton Rouge had a better outdoor eating experience...it has some very stupid laws on how you can have seating outside with food.....you don't find this in new Orleans Houston Austin Dallas or any other southern city.....this is why baton Rouge will continue to be BORING AS HELL AND WHY OUR YOUNG KIDS GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE AND LEAVE TOWN IMMEDIATELY....

It is a really nice patio but why don't they put planters and make a green screen to create some privacy from the Perkins Road traffic? Could be so much better.. Could make a great Friday after 5 spot.

You're right, this the reason. I can't believe no one thought of this before and that this one trick will save our beloved city.

I agree with you. A screen at least on the side facing Perkins would make a big difference. Maybe they thought it would be too hot not leaving it open, but they have plenty of fans. The patio itself is very well done.

I'll add in Parrains, and the Perkins Rowe restaurants (CPK, Kona, Bin 77, Lava Cantina).

It could even be large plantation shutters that match the others on the building, as long as they're substantial and separate the patio from Perkins Road a bit.
