To the F&D board for the solid dinner recs this weekend in NOLA. My DW and I had a wonderful anniversary weekend and ended up going to R'evolution Friday, Herbsaint Saturday night, and had Peche for lunch Saturday (which we've had before). We only live 3 hours away but my work schedule only allows us to get over to NOLA once or twice a year so it's a real treat when we get to head over and eat!! Thanks again gentlemen!!

No, I'm not about to lose it.

Really glad it worked out, but where are the details of your meals? Pics of the food? Details?

Did you do the chef's table at R'evolution?

Ah, you've got the short version of Meridian Dog's wife description going on.

Now, where are the details?

Well the wife and I both started off sharing the death by gumbo which we failed to get a picture of but we each had the the triptych of quail which we managed to get pics of. The death by gumbo was phenomenal as was the tri quail !! I think my favorite was the absinthe glazed quail.

For desert we shared the white chocolate bread pudding and R'evolution gave us a nice champagne toast and a delightful desert..

When we got back to the hotel the Hyatt sent up a bottle of wine to us which was very nice and unexpected...

The next day at Peche no pics were taken but we had already eaten there on a previous trip so the excitement level wasn't that high. We started off with the tuna dip, I had a bowl of seafood gumbo and the baked drum....Wife had grilled chicken at a place that specializes in seafood but she can be difficult in that regard.

We almost missed our reservation at Herbsaint Saturday night because we took a nap before going (could have been all the day drinking we did) and woke up late but we made it. We did't take pics there but we both had a bowl of gumbo, wife had the spaghetti with poached fried egg and the short ribs, and I had the shrimp and fish ceviche and a steak. Needless to say we were in a food coma after leaving but we still managed to make it to the quarter that night for some fun. All in all a great trip, we even made it to the game yesterday and had really good seats even though the unfortunate outcome. Can't wait to come back which will be in about 4 weeks so I will definitely be hitting up the board for more recs!!

Not this time....I opted for more privacy but it will definitely not be my last time at R'evolution. We plan to do it next time!!

I sure did!! We have each been on low carb diets for the past 5 weeks because of a trip we are about to go on. I haven't gotten to eat rice in a while so I very much cheated this weekend.
