I don´t think I´ve ever fit the BMI (possibly on the fringe when quite young).

As you can see, I look normal (in my opinion). Not fat, not ´jacked´. Just normal.

You would look pretty jacked if you lose 20 or so pounds.

He's not even obese according to BMI. He'd have to gain 15 lbs to be the bare minimum of obese.

True story. I did get to this weight once, in my early 40s, when I ran a hell of a lot (maybe 40 miles a week).

Entire family said cut it out, you look emaciated.

People always say this when someone gets in shape. I don't know if it is jealousy or what but you constantly have people trying to sabotage you when you start losing weight/live a healthier lifestyle. Based on your picture I don't see how you would look emaciated if you lost 20 pounds(not that you look bad now or anything.)

He is considered extremely overweight according to BMI. Overweight is 25-29.9, and he is 28.4. That is ridiculous for him You can see his abs(no homo)

If he lost 20 lbs he would look absolutely shredded or emaciated depending on how he lost it. 20 lbs for him would be a ton

For sure. I possibly could handle 10 (again, depending upon how I lost it).

Everyone thinks this until they actually do it. When I was 175-180 I looked about like he does if not a little leaner. I have actually went down ten pounds lower than the picture I posted earlier and did not look emaciated. It does depend on how you lose it. If you are just dieting and doing cardio you will lose a lot of muscle mass along with fat. If you are lifting heavy and dieting/cardio you will look a lot different.

In your picture you are absolutely shredded as I would say. And if he lost 20 lbs the "right way" he would look like that with even more vascularity

When I first started I thought if I lost 20 pounds I would have a six pack. I guess I thought it would all come from my stomach. When I got to around 175 or so like I said I was about like he is if not a little leaner so if he lost 20 pds he would probably look about like I do not emaciated.

It's exactly what it is. People like to feel better about themselves and their poor physique so they hate when others get in good shape because it makes them feel inferior.

IF he did it correctly by monitoring protein and calories yes, 20 lbs would make hiM shredded like a body builder. But that is hard to do. If he lost 20 lbs simply by cutting calories, he would look emaciated IMHO

This was pretty cool to use to see the differences in your own stats for weight loss.
You also see weight loss in a body for a regular guy not working out and a guy working out for muscle.

I'm too darn late to this party.

So, what about a guy who lost 41 pounds and didn't work out. What do I do now.

Not really. Just up your protein, cut your calories gradually and lift heavy.

Now is a good time to work out if you are down to the weight you want to be.
You can workout and stay at the same weight or vice versa.

I was hoping the answer would be "it's too late to work out. Just be happy where you are."

Serious though, is heavy weight and low reps the best way to go? I'm 54. I only act like a kid.

At 54 you don't have to lift heavy weights.

Lift something were you can do it 3 sets X 10 to 12 times.

Or be happy where you are.
