Yep. I've heard miraculous stories from out there. I was told last week at MBP that I could treat it or not, but it probably wouldn't make much of a difference in the time frame. Said it wasn't curable.

Tongue? Well then I know everyone you're going to see on your visit. And I probably know your surgeon very well. Head & neck surgery at Anderson is top 3 in the nation every year. I watched 100's of surgeries, and many partial and full glossectomies. They are truly amazing surgeons, and I mean that sincerely.

Eat good before treatment starts. And STAY POSITIVE! The first 5 days after that type or oral surgery (and possible neck dissection) are miserable. It WILL get better. I promise!

Feel free to email me if you have any questions about the process. I know most every step of the journey you're about to take. Don't hesitate to ask anything.

On my first day there I met a guy. We talked and he said his doctors back home said he needed to make his plans for being planted six feet under. I met this happy fellow on his ten year check up from being cancer free. just saying.

Off South Main between Alabama and Winbern (next to Julia's Bistro). I think they opened another location since I've moved.

Thanks for all the suggestions everybody. Greatly appreciated. I don't know what kind of mood we'll be in but at least we'll have solid options.

I was really looking forward to that frito pie at the Armadillo Palace but the sonofabitch is closed for a private party.

It is right around the corner from our hotel too.

I'm now in the hotel drinking a beer and regrouping and waiting on my buddy to get here. We didn't have any lunch so I'm a bit famished.

Unless they tell me to go outside and pick out a plot, the news and answers they give can't be much worse than what I got at MBP last week.

Sorry to hear that big guy. Prayers sent your way.

Josey....check out the Avalon Diner, it isn't to far from your hotel, and they have some great food, especially at lunch. It is the one in River Oaks, just off westheimer. LINK
