Fried egg on a burger is fantastic, just gets pretty messy so I don't do it often.

Fried egg on top of a bowl of chilli is where it's at...

Learned that from Messican friends in Colorado when I was a kid.

I love the idea, too lazy to add it to a home made burger.

A memory from my childhood is a hard fried egg sandwich (with crispy, lacy edges) on soft white bread, mayo on one side, yellow mustard on the other. No burger necessary.

This is nothing new. In New Zealand it's called a Kiwi Burger. They are on the menu @ the NZ McDonald's.

I normally eat my burgers with dill pickle slices but when I put an egg on it I leave the pickles off, it seems to overpower the egg.

I read your original post wrong. My bad.

I like an egg on a burger also. As long as it's runny

Pub by the house serves a burger called Morning Wood. It's a sunny side up egg on a burger with bacon and PB&J. It's my favorite and I get it every time I'm there.

Not for me. I love eggs and the runny yolk, but I find that the yolk makes it a sloppy mess. Typically, the yolk soaks into the bun forces me to eat the burger with a fork and knife.

My kind of burger is lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, bacon, cheddar cheese, and bbq sauce. The bun may be swapped out with thick Texas toast too.

Lately I don't like eating my burger with a bun so an egg is a nice addition, if I have a bun an egg does make it pretty sloppy. It's a nice compliment as long as there is an acidic component to balance the richness, ketchup works but I prefer something more along the lines of pickled onions (I don't really enjoy pickled cucumbers on a burger) or even a good vinegary hot sauce. Have to have mayo and raw onion as well but those are automatic for pretty much every burger

A fried egg on a burger is delicious, especially if the yolk is still a bit runny.

For those who don't like egg on burger, you must really hate steak tartare.
