I still like Guinness for breakfast.

I agree with the Lemon Pledge, I mean wheat.

Guinness is not bad, but these days there are just so many better stouts out there. I agree that there is nothing like a good stout for breakfast.

There is just something about it, not to heavy and a light flavor. I agree there are some awesome breakfast stouts out there and like most of them. Wouldn't say Guinness is better when head to head, but the morning after a hard night a Guinness hits the spot.

At the Irish House for brunch a few months back...

Forgot the specifics, but I think it was a Guinness brownie, Irish whiskey gnocchi, and baileys cream

The only good thing about Irish House is that they pour a nice Guinness. The food though is not good.

6BD / Jester King - Noble King

dig it. better than Parish Farmhouse, IMO.

It's irish food, they do what they can with it. Hard style to pimp.

Exactly. You take an already boring cuisine and make it even worse by trying to add cajun/creole fusion. It just doesn't work. Sucks because it's a really nice space and the owner seems like a talented chef.

I ran around Town Lake. You may have had nice scenery but my scenery bounced.

I find there is more talent running the Lady Bird Lake trail along the river in Downtown.

Nice. I love porters. Probably my favorite style behind a really solid IPA.

Finishing up this Noble King then I'm done for the night.

Guinness is OK.. I'm glad most places carry it, so if I'm feeling a stout I can almost always find one. But I don't care for it much.

This has been a really good porter. Think I am down to my last 6-8 of them. Doesn't need to be said, but worth trying if you get a chance.

Personally I go stout over porter, just like the extra depth/flavor/intensity or whatever you want to call it.
