Mmmm. I had some crawfish Friday night. They were so good. Need to organize a boil here soon.

Figured I'd test this whole pho cures hangovers idea. Walked to Pho Bistreaux because I figured the fresh air would help too. Place was awful. Too cramped and the pho was just not good. One of the shrimp in my spring rolls still had the shell on, didn't discover that until it was in my mouth. I went to wash my hands in the bathroom and it was disgusting as well.

I think my hangover is worse now

Nbd is the Nola barrel aged Swamp Grape with Brett. Meh. Swamp grape isn't good to begin with. The nose on this version is slight funk. A musty funk. True barnyard aroma. Taste is very flat. Watery. No twang. Will not order again.

I like swamp grape. It's descent at least. Tried the sour yesterday and I thought it lacked. Needs more aging or something. Not sour enough to be considered a sour to me. Maybe their next ones will be better.

I'm not sure if I would order it again either. Girlfriend who loves sours liked it but thought it could be more sour/tart.

Pho bistreaux is no good. Next time walk over to Ba Chi. You live in Carrollton?

Nbd is a Nola intergalactic saison. Very good. Bartender said this will be their new hurricane saison recipe. I asked about canning it, and she said it doesn't sell well and they had to recently but a bunch of kegs back.

I think they used Brett bruxellensis in the swamp grape. Not a very showy Brett strain. Also tastes mildly moldy, like the barrel was bad or something. The more it warmed the worse it got.

And the guy next to me is trying to hit on the bartender. I give him credit, but he's saying wet hopped ales get you a different kind of drunk that is similar to being high. I had a good mavenly laugh.

Thanks for the tip, yeah, that's my 'hood.

I love the bartender at NOLA. I'm generally there at off times, so I'll just sit there and drink a couple of beers with her and shoot the shite.

Well shite man. You gotta walk over to Bottomland Brewery some time. I'm right next to Panola St Cafe. Apparently the Nola bartender lives right there as well.

Open invite to any FBDers. Said it before. I'll say it again. Beer is meant to be drank and not looked at.

Nbd is a Nola Glambeau. Meh. Want more of that intergalactic saison.
