I was just reading on FB and BA about hunahpu day..... Sounds like a royal cluster. I'd imagine CCB's profits will be taking a bit of a hit for a while until they can rebound from it.

I'd suspect that it's just a lot of people blowing off steam.

Quality/variety of brew will reign supreme over temp butt hurt.

3,500 refunds @ $50 each = $175,000. Looks like its gonna hurt the bottom line as well. Im sure their image is gonna take a little hit from this as well.

That's refund value of a ticket though. I know that they could have made 175k that the won't make after this event but it's not like they are really doing anything other than refunding the money that they collected.

Loss of revenue...yep. But it's not like they lost unpaid money, right?

admitting a mistake and making up for it should actually help the image more than the event hurt the image

So all the kegs they have at huna day are donated by other breweries? Im sure they had to pay police and the like to work the festival, plus the cost of permits and such.

Well, you'd be pretty pissed if you shelled out good time and money on airfare, hotels, rental car, etc. to attend this event that ends up being a huge clusterfrick and you didn't even get the three bottles of the beer you were guaranteed to get.

Not to mention CCB urges people not to come early because there's "no need to", yet the ones that do get rewarded with easy entry and the ability to purchase a case of their most rare sought after beers. That would definitely add some serious salt to the wound.

Agreed, but they definitely did some damage yesterday.

Ahhhh no doubt about that Ru, I know there are cost associated but I'm guessing that the immediate financial impact is not as grand as some are making it out to be.

I could be wrong though...just thinking out loud.

i'm curious at to what degree, if any, CCB will try to hold Eventbrite responsibility for the lack of ticket control generated through their system

Seems like ccb gave up scanning tickets and didnt really try to prevent duplicate tickets from getting in. Even with the ticket fiasco, their "advice" on arriving early and the lack of bottles for people who paid for tickets and guranteed 3 bottles falls on ccb. I think they should hire an outside agency to run huna day.

No doubt, at least they can still make this up to legitimate ticket holders by brewing another batch. Probably not a cheap venture, but it depends on the backlash right now.
