What's the farthest you drive out of your way for a particular food or drink item? And I mean driving there solely for this purpose, not because you are going that way for something else.

Literally, the only thing I can think of that I truly drive out of my way for would be dinner at Mosca's.

We drive 50 miles to Hollis' Seafood Buffet in Spearsville,La. whenever we get the hankering for good fried seafood, frog legs for me. They also have amazing homemade cinnamon rolls and peach dumplings. Believe it or not the WM/Monroe area doesn't have anything near Hollis' quality. It's pretty sad

The Varsity? Seriously? There are waaaay better hamburgers in Atlanta. In all reality, there are probably better way hamburgers closer to you.

Unless it was just a nostalgia thing for you, in which case, do what you gotta do, I guess. Bring me one of those orange drinks.

I would drive from NOLA to Henderson for some crawfish bisque from Pat's, but I can't get anybody to go with me.

I usually plan great food around my travels, but I did book a flight to Las Vegas just to eat at Kabuto. Yeah, I had fun in the city otherwise, but I realized that it was the first time that I had chosen a destination because of a restaurant.

I also drove from St. Paul to Knife River just to pick up smoked fish from Russ Kendall's Smoke House. Made a night of it in nearby Duluth, but Kendall's was the reason the trip was made. About a five hour round trip. Smoked Ciscoes.
