IN your pie or ON your pie?

I can handle in. Can't handle on top of the pie. But I also hate cheap whipped walmart bakery frosting, the inside of twinkies and stuff like that. Probably a texture thing.

I once paid $22 for a dessert called "Sugar on Vermont snow" It was maple syrup with caramel trees and cream caramel in the ice.

Oh and Key Lime Pie from the same place. Was good, but this was $20

I hate cake balls too, can't stand that mushy consistency, ugh.. Red Velvet and bread pudding also suck cake balls.

Cheesecake is an angry-dessert for me. One bite and my head feels like it's going to fall off. Not a fan.

The mushy/uncooked aspect for cake balls grosses me out too, but not NEARLY as much as the thought of someone rolling them with their hands and THEN not cooking them

I've never eaten a cake ball that wasn't cooked.

Normally you bake the cake as directed, then roll it into balls with frosting (have seen it done with wax paper to avoid the hand-to-cake thing). Then freeze them.

Well that's reassuring. I've seen many no-bake cake ball recipes and just assumed that's how they're all made.

Still the consistency and touching people's hands icks me out. (I know.. many things touch hands but it's just a thing with cake balls for me)

Maybe it would be less gross to me if it was cooked after people touched it.

Red Velvet, IMO, is heavily overrated. FWIW I would like it more without the red dye, which kills my stomach.

Not a huge fan of whoopie pies either.

Touche!

I'm sure it can be done. Probably start with your no-bake recipe, roll them up and bake them in balls? Just not sure how a no-bake cake ball even works...it's the dry cake with the frosting that makes it stick together. How would that work with batter?
