I like almost any dessert, EXCEPT those sugar-free fruit pies and anything with jello or the god-awful Cool Whip.

If you're going to bother making or buying dessert, make it real, not a bunch of artificial crap.

I'll play.

Already mentioned, but also despised by me is cookie cake! It's not a cake, it's just a big arse greasy cookie with nasty, greasy icing.

Cool whip- the "ingredients" are disgusting.

I've never understood red velvet or the infatuation.

Anything with white chocolate, I mean white butter

But, I don't expect cookies to be served at a restaurant.

If you're ever in Lafayette, Social serves cookies for dessert with cereal infused milk. Delicious.

The only time desserts make me angry is when I want one and shouldn't have one. I'm not a big dessert person, but I like a few bites of sweet or a sweet after dinner dessert drink. There are a few desserts that float my boat, though. A good creme brûlée, some bread puddings and warm fresh blueberry pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on too. Oh and a fresh out the oven chocolate chip cookie in a bowl with vanilla ice cream on top. I'll stop now. I'm getting angry.

Bread pudding. Has there ever been so much love for anything that is simply the kitchen getting rid of stale bread?

A whole thread dedicated to the controversy mine inspired, love it.

Is it ok that I hate chocolate cake, but love red velvet? Does that add fuel to the fire?? I hope so

I don't know why everyone in that thread is so mad.

The RV haters should be able to say that yes, it is different than chocolate cake and there is a reason it has a different name.

The RV lovers should be able to say that yes, it is just a few ingredient changes on what is basically a form of chocolate cake.

Both sides have a point.

Definitely agree. It's a fun thing to make. I wouldn't waste my time with it every weekend, but it was a fun experiment. Isn't that what cooking is supposed to be about? It is for me at least.

I'm not a big sweets eater either. There are very few desserts that I'd consider worth the calories and sugar overload.

I think cupcakes are way overrated. They are usually dry and have way too much icing.

This is very true. My impression of the cupcake fad was 'why don't they just serve a big cup of icing'. If you like sugar and Crisco that much, just eat it.

Personally I prefer the cake, keep the icing, which I usually scrape off.
