The wife and I are staying at the Beau for a few days and want to do a date night. We just got the room and are going to stay in tonight, but we would like to try some good food tomorrow. We don't have any real craving just want something that would offer a good experience. What do you guys suggest? Thanks in advance!

Half shell. Then, go to downtown ocean springs for some fun nightlife or just back to 875 at the beau.

Thanks for the suggestions, I think we are going to try the half shell. The BR Prime is closed tonight and tomorrow.

Yes, half shell and Ocean Springs gov't street to walk. Cork knows her Biloxi

I would wait to sit together at the bar downstairs at half shell. But, I'm a bar-sitter, so that just may be my style.

We enjoyed Yaye

Sorry I forgot - diner at Phoenicia in Ocean Springs. One other meal at Trapani's in Bay St. Louis. And a Whataburger on 49 highway as we left town, because it was there and we were there.

Did they have trout? I crave their amandine, but damn if they usually don't prepare it with flounder. I'm not a fan of frozen flounder, or maybe just flounder in general. When they're stocked with specs it's a tough place to beat on the coast.

2nd Saturday was wild this week with Freda fest. The shops must just kill it those days since you can barely even get into most of them.

Friends and I went to a local liquor store there. We walked the entire store, then the clerk asked if we were looking for something. We said that we were looking for beer, and he replied that it's illegal to sell beer in liquor stores in Mississippi. wtf?

Same in Alabama. Although angry orchid is considered liquor in Alabama. Crazy arse southern baptist laws still on the books.

My wife would have walked out with 6 cold Imperial splits and called it a day...

It would help the craft beer companies if they could sell them in the liquor stores. A little more deliberate crowd shops at liquor stores as opposed to buying swill at gas stations.

Somehow I just can't shake that this should be the country version of "Midnight at the Oasis."

I had the amandine at Trapani's a few weeks ago. It was excellent.
