wtf. I dont go to that brewbachers but them closing is BS! Everything on their menu is good.

Its not. They have some good things on the menu and I used to go when I was at LSU, but that place lived off of its location. Next owner should just make it a bar with maybe some food mixed in.

They've all fallen off to a certain degree. The one on Government is just terrible and needs to be cleaned and refurbished.

I always found a certain charm as to how it still looks pretty much completely unchanged from the early 1970s Pizza Inn it once was.

Not breaking news, and I know I will probably get blasted from those with refined palates and all that shite but I'm gonna miss hitting this place for lunch.

Discuss.

That was easily the worst Brewbachers location. The prices weren't much higher than their other spots, but they skimped on the portions BAD. Compare an order of onion rings there to the one at Government street. It's embarrassing. Hopefully, a good po'boy place opens up there instead. My family liked eating there before LSU baseball games for whatever reason.

They had some decent lunch specials, but for the regular menu I totally agree. The last time I ordered a poboy there I got like a 6 inch sandwich with three tiny pieces of fish on it for around 10 dollars. That is atrocious.

One of the very first places I dined at when I first started LSU. Yes, the food was mediocre at the time, and horrible now.

I'll still have some fond memories of drinking cold beers watching a game at BB's.

Not too surprised. Seemed to be going downhill last few times I went there. Service was terrible and food quality had gone down. Never seemed to have a big crowd either.

Oh well. It was a decent place but I kinda hope we get something similar to take its place. We could use a cheaper burger place like that near campus.

The Advocate says they're closing on May 31, but they're looking for another location to move to near LSU, possibly at the North Gates.

quote:

The pending expansion of Nicholson Drive is the main reason for closing the restaurant

quote:

“How long construction will last is going to effect our bottom line,” Mayeaux said, noting that the expansion of Staring Lane took five years. Brew-Bacher’s forecast business would drop by 15 to 20 percent at the Nicholson location because of road work.

Seems like a place that was caught in a time capsule. They never really tried to improve on the menu items they served.

Barcadia, Chimes, Fat Cow & Walk Ons fit that bill.

All more expensive and not really the same type of restaurant. Maybe Fat Cow, but Brewbachers is more of a neighborhood bar/hole in the wall compared to the others I guess.

And I don't see how they could compete in the Northgate area with Barcadia, Chimes, five guys, Rauls, etc.

Well in that case, I believe the "neighborhood bar/hole" is dead.

Brightside baw. Great club sandwich too.

Man I miss watching the chaotic traffic on that brightside patio.

Maybe he meant the other North gates, along Nicholson?

With the River District supposedly on its way to being built, that might not be a bad place to relocate to. Is Voo Doo BBQ still over there?
