Tonight a few friends and I were talking about hidden gem dishes in Baton Rouge and we decided that every week or every other week we are going to go have a dish that we think is really good that the others have not tried.

Something like Fluer De Lis is not an option because we all know how good it is.

Week #1- The Bulldog for their hamburger. My one friend claims its up there with Raul's.

Week #2- Poccarella's for the Roast Beef Poboy (that's my week and if u have been on the board you know I swear by it).

What are some other suggestions? No coorporate restaurants. And the 4 Cheese Lasagna w/ meatball at Digulio Bros. Might be week 3!

I look forward to your suggestion. And this is the Baton Rouge surrounding area. Gozales/St. Francisville/New Roads/plaquemine...

Not Laffy or Nola...within 40 minutes!

Thanks!

As cazy as it sounds, try Monguni's on Jefferson for the roast beef poboy. It is the best I have ever had in BR.

If u dont mind the drive new restaurant in plaquemine, Orleans on the Avenue. Really good food and atmosphere. Hard to find solid servers out here though. First time there tried their smoked and grilled duck breast with white bean cassoulet. Bring out mini fryer basket with fried pickles and banana peppers for a prearrival snack. Really worth trying out!

What's so great about Pocorello's rb poboy? I like Pocorello's in general, but the one time I had that poboy, it had Manda roast beef on it.

Everything at Tramonte's is amazing. The burger is the best I've had in BR, the etoufee is awesome, and they serve a killer prime rib poboy. It's my favorite place to eat in BR right now.

Great palce, but I find the burger to be a tad bit dry. I'd rather the BBQ Burger from Mason's right next door.
