Buffalo style

Sweet mango

Both were excellent. I love smoked wings. Drinks were great but $10 is a little steep especially for the size. They weren't very big.

How do they compare to Blue Oak BBQ's wings?

Picked up some Blue Oak wings Saturday night. Definitely my current favorite in town. Buffalo on the left, rooster on the right. Brussel sprouts and mac for sides

What?

I didn't make a single comparison. I tried Bourre's wings and took pictures that I posted here.

Don't worry, I'll leave the wings to the real mons.

Today, I ventured Uptown to try the place, arrived promptly at noon, and ordered the buffalo wings (you can only get 7) and Hurricane Carter daiquiri

The sauce was tasty, but the size of the wings was laughable, almost BWW-esque

The drink was made to order with fresh fruit, but not near the 10$ price point, taste or alcohol-wise. Left hungry and unaffected by the booze, and am unlikely to return. Blue Oak reigns supreme.

I had both the spicy buffalo and the kimchi lemon grass. The spicy buffalo didn't look wet like yours, and had a hint of lemon flavor. I wasn't overly impressed with the spicy buffalo. I thought the kimchi lemon grass were good.

Blue Oak is in Chickie Wah Wah, right?

Correct. I went to Bourre and enjoyed the drinks, but was also underwhelmed by the wings. Have had much better elsewhere, and most def Blue Oak is waay better. Drawback with Blue Oak is the owner of CWW can be a real prick at times. My guess is much like all the other pop ups that have inhabited CWW, Blue Oak will soon be located elsewhere.

I went this afternoon for a snack based on your comments. I agree. We got the kimchi lemongrass, the buffalo, a strawberry daquiri, and a hurricane.

The best thing was the blue cheese. Blue Oak is far superior.

Agreed. There are times when the guy's a real prick, and some when he's quite personable and nice. By now, Blue Oak has to be bringing people there who'd never go otherwise, so you'd think he'd be appreciative of the random profit (beers at the bar, cover charge, etc).

i ate some jerk medium today from blue oak….definitely the best I've had in the city so far…it's not really close either.

those pics from bourre look like they are too soaked with sauce. and small as you mentioned.

I can't see myself headed to Bourre anytime soon after seeing those tiny wings. Is that all they have? Frozen cocktails and wings?

Yeah. I try not to hate on places, but I was very underwhelmed. I don't see it making it unless they make some serious changes. There's no way to eat there and leave full unless you already ate or want to lay out some serious cash for unremarkable wings. The daiquiris were also lackluster. There are too many options in this city for delicious frozen beverages for them to pass that off on people. I know it's a little apples and oranges, but the whole time I wished I was drinking a purple drink from Lafitte's. If you're only going to make two things, they should be damn good. I wanted to kick my own butt after I left because it just confirmed everything I read on here. I don't know why I bothered.
