Try Ben & Jerry's. It's 100x better and no poison.

Brenham, Texas, November 24, 2015 – Blue Bell Ice Cream will be available in Louisiana and Jackson, Miss., and its surrounding areas beginning Dec. 21. This is the second-to-last phase in the company’s five phase market re-entry plan.

“We are excited to announce phase four and look forward to expanding our distribution area,” said Ricky Dickson, vice president of sales and marketing for Blue Bell. “Our customers have shown great patience over the past several months and we cannot thank them enough.”

To begin phase four, Blue Bell will bring back 115 of its employees who were put on paid furlough earlier this year bringing the total number to approximately 1000 company-wide.

November has been busy for Blue Bell. At the beginning of the month the company entered phase two, less than two weeks later it announced phase three will begin in mid-December and its Brenham, Texas, production facility began making ice cream again on Nov. 18.

“We have made great strides over the past month,” Dickson said. “Our next big step is the phase three entry on Dec. 14. With the reopening of our Brenham plant in November, we are able to build enough inventory to enter phases three and four before the end of this year. Also, this will allow us to expand our flavor selection.”

For now Blue Bell is producing five flavors of ice cream in the half gallon and pint sizes: Buttered Pecan, Cookies ’n Cream, Dutch Chocolate, Homemade Vanilla and The Great Divide. More flavors will be added in the future. 12-pak Homemade Vanilla Cups and 12-pak Homemade Vanilla and Dutch Chocolate Cups are also available in stores.

Nah, but it's a lot cheaper and more convenient for me to have the herbs I use frequently growing in my back yard. I love fresh herbs for certain dishes. I don't grow my own veggies, but I love to frequent farmer's markets when I can. The squirrels and birds destroy my tomatoes and homegrown tomatoes in the summer are like gold to me. I love them. A caprese salad with homegrowns and fresh basil from the yard is a treat. I don't make my own fresh mozz.

My fruit trees were struck by a freeze and I'm hoping for a comeback. I'm going to miss my Meyer lemons this year.

I don't have any cattle, pigs or chickens, but I do buy local farm eggs, pork and beef when I have the opportunity. Good stuff. I made some meatballs with fresh pork and beef from a local joint a few months ago and damn, they were good. Expensive, though. Fresh eggs are just so damn good. Store bought are good, but I can tell a difference and it's a delicious difference.

Anything else?

It's just one of those things that I don't understand the overt, express love for.

In addition to this, I don't understand the devotion to a company to knowingly poisoned its customers.

Blue Bell knew about the listeria contamination in their facility AND in their products for two years before it started killing people and didn't do anything about it.

Probably safer not to. No telling what might trigger him.

Anyone in the Monroe/West Monroe area that wants to piss off the Blue Bell delivery guy, just go up to him and tell him GEAUX TIGERS. He hates LSU and football. That guy happens to be my cousin.

don't let the snobs get to ya. Some of the FDB elite get the milk from the cows they raise, grow their own sugar cane and vanilla plants.and make their own ice cream in the creamery in their back yard.

Well not to have my nose in the air because I'm more prone to have my thumb in my arse but we did have a friend bring fresh raw milk at Thanksgiving from his Woodville farm and another bring her eggs from her farm to ours and we sat on the front porch and made vanilla ice cream with our wooden bucket White Mountain ice cream maker. But it is electric not a hand crank and the vanilla flavor came out of a jar. I did pour some honey from our bees over the top.

Just sayin.
