Would you consider Champp's a flop? Mugshots is more of a flop. Champp's lasted a while.

Gotta go with Dreamland. Known brand, sunk a bunch of money to renovate only lasted only months.

Dreamland gets m vote. I've been to the Tuscaloosa original man times and was excited about it coming to BR. I went when it was open abut 2 weeks, got a rack that was inedible. It was so overcooked and dry I damaged a filling trying to chew it.

I heard many people with similar experiences, never went back.

Yeah, Dreamland is big in Alabama and pretty solid from what I remember. Some things just don't work out.

The Pea was the highest grossing pea in the nation when they opened. Then the family ran it into the ground. Couldn't figure out why roadhouse would buy the location. Doomed to fail out there.

It spiraled downward fast. New owners, quickly followed by bounced payroll checks, then the doors abruptly closing. I had some good times in there during their heyday.

Warren Capone owned Linebackers off Essen near railroad tracks. Maybe it was around 1999 or so. Anyone know when Linebackers was open?

It was 1999, I was working at a print shop at that time and Capone came in to talk to us about getting some stuff printed. I don't remember how long it was open for but it wasn't long, I went there when it first opened and that was it.

Fish City Grill next to the movie theatre at Perkins Rowe (where Voodoo BBQ is now).

They shut their doors without even telling their employees they wouldn't be reopening. That spot sat vacant for months and months in a central location on the property right next to the theatre.

story about champps...me, my wife, and some of her friends were there drinking all night. the girl behind the bar didn't want my credit card to open a tab for some reason. she was behind the bar doing shots so maybe thats why. we proceeded to get shitfaced and i left without paying my tab and didn't realize it until the next day. they closed down a couple weeks later. i like to think i single handily brought that place down

Good one. Totally forgot about that one. Red Mango didn't last long either.
