1. Jasmines on the Bayou... not even close
2. Mike Willys
3. This new place Indulgence. God awful service but their chicken and waffles might be the best thing I've ever eaten.

Edit: Forgot to add, Jazz Daddys is complete garbage.

Indeed. I had a girlfriend in college whose dad would say "wanna take a run?"

Meant we were going to Pastime to grab a beer.

Kafka, you can get that Catfish Acadian at Brightside Bar and Grill on Fridays (lunch special). Same owner, so probably the same recipe.

Define "muffaletto bread" ... because when I went in there and ordered the "Muffaletta" that he suggested that I try because it was a big seller, it was served on a sesame seed hamburger bun that looked like it had been in a Panini press.

I asked him about it ... whether someone in the kitchen had made a mistake ... he told me no, that was what they served it on, and that everyone loved it.

If his customers like it, I'm happy for them, and happy that he makes a living doing that. But a sesame seeded hamburger bun is NOT a "muffaletta bread."

I second this...

Tostones and pupusa for appetizer
Eat the pickled veggies...whether you think you like them or not.
Puerco Guisado or mole...or fish tacos....or platonos.

Try to get the waitress who isn't fluent in English but incredibly well spoken. Sweetest most honest people ever.

Left a pair of sunglasses there for months. As soon as I walked in, she set them on my table. The wife left hers the same day, same thing two days later when we went back. Good people.

Jasmine's is good, but I did have a bad meal there the other day, sad because its top three in baton rouge. Though I hate the chalmation with the annoying fake accent.

Thai chili is good. Their drunken noodles extra spicy and Asian chili wings are the bomb.

Pluckers isn't bad either...if you know the right sauce combos to.mix. bakers gold and garlic Parm. Bakers gold and sesame (tastes like general tso chicken). Fire in the hole with cinnamon and sugar (called the BigRed)

The meatball sub. At mellow mushroom is way better than it has any right to be.

Buzz cafe downtown used to do a great breakfast...but I haven't been in a long while.

We eat out once a week to break from clean foods...I go just about everywhere.

Glenda's over in breaux bridge is the current favorite.

Boom!

I've had that Catfish dish over 100x. I may need to run up there for a little nostalgia next season.
