Best deal on a Big Green Egg in B.R. or New Orleans?

I have a friend who is interested in getting a B.G. Egg and he has looked at Goodwood Hardware. Are there other places in Baton Rouge/New Orleans that have a similar selection of them. Does the cost vary that much between sellers?

The prices are the same. I think they're mandated by BGE.

Only deals you're going to find would be used.
Check Craigslist or something similar. Good luck finding one for sale though.

Not sure, I am on an Akorn budget and he is on a BGE/Primo budget. I know both Primo and BGE have very reliable products, with very good customer service and warranties. I believe he has cooked on one once or twice and really enjoyed it.

Some dealers will throw in accessories, assembly, and delivery. Some won't. I think that's how the main price differences happen. It pays to call around.
The only real deals are buying them at an Eggfest. And they're great deals. I'm thinking about going to the one in Destin to pick up another one this year.

How much do the end up coming down after eggfest?

20% on the egg and 15% on the cart and plate setter. You can't get it without the cart. Comes out to $882 for the large and 1215 for the xl. I have no idea if that is before or after taxes. And the prices may vary between eggfests. I'm not sure.

When I bought my egg several years ago, Contractor's Discount in Kenner (on Albany St, behind the airport) offered the best deal. The price was essentially the same, but CD threw in free delivery/assembly at my location, charcoal, starters, grate lifter, other accessories, etc. I ended up with at least $200 in "stuff" plus free setup/delivery.

I picked mine up considerably cheaper in Atlanta. No deals around New Orleans when I was looking. Not sure if the pricing is enforced by area or what, but definitely cheaper in GA.
