Don's and Best Stop are a rip off for some of their meat products but they can do it cause of the location. They both sell cow tongue for around $15 a pound when you can get it for $7 pretty much anywhere else

I live in Scott and eat boudin alot. Just about everyone I know, including myself, shares this sentiment. Best Stop and Billy's are fantastic, Don's leaves much to be desired.

I live in Scott too. I find that Don's is getting a bad rap. Every one of these places has a bad batch or two. Don's is consistently better than the Best Stop. For those that don't know Early's Grocery has great boudin as well, and much cheaper than the big 3 in Scott. I will also say that there is no "BEST BOUDIN", they're too many good ones in the area to crown a champ. I could eat a different one every day for 3 weeks and be satisfied (Johnson's, Chops, LeBlanc's, NuNu's, Billeaud's....... well you get the point) !

Johnson's is great, but their links are tiny. Also, when I'm there it's on Thursdays for their sausage and tasso sauce piquante.

Johnson's pulled pork sandwich is among the best pulled pork I've had.

How about Lagnons in New Iberia?

Or any places worth going to in the Broussard/Youngsville area?

Incorrect. Ronnie's in Baton Rouge has some of the best boudin available. The smoked is very good and placed 1st in the Specialty Division at the 2013 Boudin Cookoff in Lafayette.

Good boudin and the people are very nice in that store.. Don't go to Youngsville without stopping at Hebert's Specialty Meats.

Based on my extensive sampling.

NuNu's

Billy's

Best Stop

Ronnie's

Johnson's

Yes a detour to Maurice for a stop at Hebert's is great.

But I think I would prefer to just stock up on some sausage at Nunu's.

Considering the places that showed up this year it looks like I could have threw some boudin together and took at least 3rd

No love for T-Boy's? I've been pretty impressed with them lately.

I agree with you about greatness of Johnson's pulled pork sandwich, but you've got to try the pork sandwich from the Chef Gregory food truck. It's as good or better.

Baton Rouge has crap for boudin.

I think you've been told the bests already: Billy's, Earl's, Johnson's.

If you listen a previous poster who told you of a place in Mamou, in between Eunice and Mamou on LA 13 and old gas station. White brick, no working pumps. Called Mel's. Their boudin is worth picking up, as is their marinated chicken and pork for a good jambalya.
