Go with the 3 B's:
Best Stop
Billy's
Bergeron's

Best Stop is my favorite. Don's isn't.

I would sell one of you for some Billy's pepper jack boudin balls right now.

I would literally place one of you into human bondage.

Lady was serving samples of Richard's pre-packaged boudin at Hi Nabor last Saturday so I bought a small pack. Cooked it and ate it with white Bunny Bread & mustard....It satisfied my boudin fix..Now I'd like to try the good stuff.

What's the name of all those places between Port Allen & Plaquimine? And someone told me that there was even a grocery store in that stretch that has good stuff.

Bergeron's in Lobdell?

Best smoked boudin I've had and some really nice cuts of meat in there.

don't go to Don's

The hell? The general consensus is exactly the opposite.

I live in Scott and eat boudin alot. Just about everyone I know, including myself, shares this sentiment. Best Stop and Billy's are fantastic, Don's leaves much to be desired.

Makes me sad I'm missing the Boudin cookoff this weekend

ETA: And why go to Don's when you have such better choices near by????

Don's is better. Billy's has better boudin balls.

I would add to Best Stop.

Get the beef jerky.

Ask if the cracklin is fresh if so get some of that. If not typically Dons seems to be fresh more often. Best Stop if fresh though.

Billy's has smoked boudin too but I dont find it to be as good as Best Stop.

If Billy's boudin balls had the crusting flavor that Ronnies has it would be my favorite. I dont know what Ronnies does but there is some sort of popeye's chicken skin flavor to their boudin balls which I love. Billy's crust can get chewy sometimes but they are great.

Best Stop's boudin balls can be soggy and greak apart too easy.

Also for Don's the sausage is good. They have a great ribeye sausage.

Dons is always packed which makes it a hassle but they move their cracklin more as a result. So easier to get fresh cracklin. Meat market is nice too. Prior to Billys showing up I went there more than Best Stop since Best Stop started getting inconsistent. Now I typically stop at Billys more.

Dons can be inconsistent with seasoning. Sometimes its light your arse on fire hot.
