The James Beard Award-winning chef and bestselling author announced that he will open a restaurant at 3737 Buffalo Speedway in Greenway Plaza. Eunice, described as a "Creole, Cajun brasserie," will open in the fall of 2017. If the sold-out dinner Besh held at Underbelly in 2013 is any indication, lots of Houstonians will be counting the days until it opens.

I don't know why you think Eunice is so funny.. It's a cultural hub of German and French cooking. It was good enough for Anthony Bourdain to have on his show, twice.

I never understood why he opened his first Texas outpost in San Antonio.

Awesome.
Hopefully since he named it "Eunice", and gumbo made in that establishment will actually taste like Cajun gumbo from Eunice as opposed to the tomato infused mess too many NOLA establishments shovel out.

Those Besh boys stay busy. I went to the soft opening at their new Caribbean Room last night.
Really nice FYI. I'll try to post a little review later.

They still have some work to do. IMO.
We didn't tour the hotel, but the lobby was still undergoing renovations. They're going to have a coffee shop in the front that appears near completion.
The dining room is very nice, though feminine. They will also have a rooftop bar that I'm really interested to check out. We tried the entire menu and it was all very well executed.

I am really encouraged with these recent developments offering a rooftop bar. A quality rooftop hangout that is open to the public has been sorely lacking in New Orleans.

Lotsa horny chatter at the office about this place. I'm looking forward to the opening...

More than two years after it was announced, it looks like embattled Greenway Plaza restaurant Eunice has plans to debut later this year.
The restaurant announced that it would be arriving sometime this fall in an update to its website. That’s a change from earlier this month, when the Houston Chronicle reported that it would be opening its doors in late summer. It’s unclear why exactly the restaurant’s opening is being delayed again, but a tipster tells Eater that construction has been slow-going on the space at 3737 Buffalo Speedway.
When the restaurant was announced, it was supposed to open its doors in fall 2017, right around the time that more than 25 former and current employees of Besh’s restaurants came forward to accuse the chef of sexual harassment and “fostering a culture that encouraged harassment and assault.” Besh stepped down from his company Besh Restaurant Group, which has since been renamed BRG Hospitality, about a month after the allegations surfaced, but a representative for the company tells Eater that the chef is still a part-owner of Eunice and BRG Hospitality’s other restaurants.
A recent press release from Eunice reads like Besh doesn’t even exist, instead focusing on Chef Drake Leonards’ plan to bring a “Cajun-Creole” brasserie to Houston. Leonards comes to Houston by way of San Antonio, where he served as executive chef at Besh’s restaurant Lüke in San Antonio, which shuttered in February 2017, a few months after the Besh controversy peaked.
Eunice is expected to open in “early fall.” Stay tuned for more details on its official arrival.

Well the BBQ place that opened up here a few months ago is definitely legit. Brisket is phenomenal.

u talking about feges?
i sampled some of his stuff at the houbbqfest last month, i was underwhelmed, but those fests can be a crapshoot with everything that's going on.

Pretty disappointed it didn’t open when schedule since at the time I lived within walking distance. I hope it works out

Brisket definitely on the top tier with Truth and Killens IMO. Great "Blue Oakey" style brussel sprouts.
