If I lived in New Orleans, I'd be all over this.

Gin and tonic: Hendrick's, tonic water, ice, cucumber garnish. So simple, yet so easy to screw up. August did not screw this up. First of all, the drink arrived at the table roughly 3 minutes after I ordered it. The pour was so fresh that the first sip flooded my mouth and sinuses with still settling gin vapors, instantly placing me in an outstanding mood. My wife had some sort of girly mixed drink that she loved. It was pink, and I wasn't interested in it.

okay. not too bad. I spent two bills at Lilette for two people. and from what I read it sounds like August is worth the dough.

I really wish that I would have gone with the tasting menu, looking back on it. $90 for five courses (I think it was $130 with wine pairings.)

They also allow you to order a la carte from the tasting menu, which I thought was pretty swell.

If the F&D board starts a fund to buy me meals, I'll be more than happy to post reviews with even more words.

This sounds painful, unless you throw like a girl.

I did this a couple weeks ago witht he wine pairings. It was incredible. You got off a bit cheaper than me though. Our total bill without tip was 345. We each started and ended the meal with a cocktail though.

The next time we go, I'll be doing it for sure. I really like that they let you get it with or without the pairings - I've been to a few places that are all or nothing.

Personally, you can write a review for every meal you eat. I loved reading your descriptions. Tom Fitzmorris watch out! Schwartz is in the house!
