Figs wrapped w/prosciutto
Fig upside down cake....just like pineapple, only substitute figs cut in 1/2 for the pineapple rings

Nope. If you like to peel the figs, feel free. If the figs are especially big n fat, maybe cut em in half. Otherwise, wrap w/strips of thinnest sliced proscuitto, then eat. It's a nice change from the usual proscuitto & melon.

I like a little goat or blue cheese stuffed inside, then wrap them in prosciutto and bake.

Kajungee has a recipe for pork tenderloin or pork loin, I believe in the TD bookbook. I have it somewhere and will look for it.

Emeril's fig chutney is delicious. I make it with his herb, mustard, and parm crusted lamb.

I also like to serve it on crostinis with blue cheese and prosciutto.

P 81 of the TD recipe book has Gee's recipe.

BR, when they're ripe, you pick, or that's when I do if the birds haven't pecked them all. I have to fight them for what little I have left. I lost half my tree in one of the hurricanes.

I've heard they're are certain things you can put on the tree that scares them off.

I tried one of those ugly owls and something else I can't recall right now. A fake snake maybe. The birds didn't care. I think they're used to the owls in my area and probably the snakes, too, since there's a bayou a block away. I see and hear owls quite often. They're scary creatures at night when they make screechy noises.

I've been tossing rocks at birds for days, the bastards keep going after the big ones.

Haven't tried pie tins. That might do it. Then I could string up white lights that would reflect on those and I'm sure it would be a sight to behold!

Those dang birds are fast and I hate finding the pecked figs on the ground much less the tree.

Is that a threat? Do they think of the nursery rhyme? "Watch out, guys, this one is crazy. He's gonna make dessert out of us!"
