My parents got me a $250 gift card from Goldbelly, so I placed my first two orders which arrived yesterday. I ordered pizzas from DiFara in Brooklyn, and Joe's in Greenwich Village. I ate one of the pizzas from DiFara earlier this evening and was pretty disappointed - it was OK, but certainly nothing special. Has anybody here ever had any success ordering from Goldbelly? I plan on ordering Lou Malnati's and Doughnut Plant with the remainder of my balance.

Bought an overly expensive cake from Goldbelly that was pretty decent. I've had Lou Malnati's pizzas shipped to me before (not from Goldbelly tho) and they came out pretty good.

IMO frozen pizza is never close to the real thing. I think some of the BBQ would be a better option to ship.

I ordered a couple of Lou Malnati’s pizzas about 6 months ago. They were fantastic.

Yeah I think deep dish pizza will probably fare better- I’d reccomend a Detroit Style Deep dish like Buddy’s if they have that.

I used it for Lou Malnati's and it was pretty good, and I have eaten at Lou's in Chicago so TIFWIW. I wanted to get some from Pequod's but I'm not sure it would come out the same as in house and don't want to be disappointed. I'm glad you commented on DiFara b/c it was on the list as well. Guess I'll pass on that one.

The Perry’s pork chop is tempting.

When my wife had COVID over the summer, a friend sent us some really good soups, pastrami and rye from a Jewish deli. Of course, that’s stuff that holds up well under shipping

I sent my daughter bagels, salmon, and cream cheese from a deli in NY. Arrived warm and she lives in a northern state and it was spring. They resent them. Same thing happened the second time

My one and only experience with goldbelly.

Frozen pizza just kind of is what it is imo. Any baked goods are going to decrease in quality by the time they arrive. I've been gifted a few cards similar to you. I've had success with big cuts of meat (Momofuku bo ssam, Katz's pastrami, Kreuz Market jalapeno cheese hot links).

Lou's will travel better because it's a damn pie.

I’ll vouch for Lou malnatis shipped frozen as well. Just make sure you order 6 at a time so they come out to a reasonable price…. Like $15 each pizza. Also, don’t forget to butter up the crust prior to baking.

2 frozen pizzas for 70
Gourmet Mack and cheese serves 4 99$
Short rib Shepard’s pie serves 145$

I’m not cheap by any means but this isn’t for me

True most of these places can be ordered from directly and cheaper than Goldbelly

Yeah, it is only the sort of thing I would buy if I had a close friend who was sick or if someone gave me a card. Hell, a good friend of mine was recovering from a broken leg a few months ago and I didn't fool with it, because he lives alone. (I just sent him a DoorDash gift card)
