Every place in America has cancellations from time to time, so be optimistic!

If you're going to be there for a month, then you should have no problem getting in at some point. This is what you do: when you get to town, go to the French Laundry's offices, they're through the courtyard, back to the right. Let them know you will be in town for a month and give them your local/cell number. Tell them you are interested in any cancellations. They will call you when they have them. Over the course of a month, they will likely call you three or four times. It may be for lunch, it may be for dinner, but you should have no problem eating there if you do this. I was there for a month a couple of years ago and did this, they called me half a dozen times.

When did this 60 day nonsense start? Granted it has been 5 years since I have been out there but that seems silly. I guess it makes sense from a cancellation standpoint though.

Reservations have been available two months from the day you want to dine for 10+ years.

Makes sense. Buddy has lived out there for 15 years and he always took care of us but I really thought they took reservations a year out.

Lilly, I apologize and I hope you get in.

I'll enjoy the taste of my foot for lunch.

American Express concierge is your best bet. If you can find someone with a platinum or black card, then all the better.

I'm going for my birthday if I can secure a ressie using Amex concierge with my company's card.

This. The concierge got us in with no problem. We are going June 8.

Well, the restaurant is closed from July 15-25, so I have to wait until the 25th to call back and get a reservation on the 25th. But I put our name on a waitlist, regardless.

You'll get a spot being waitlisted, but you'll need to be flexible with your date.

I used my Amex rep to get me in when I went in the fall

This is what I would do. Call AmEx, give them the parameters and have them do the leg work. They need to do something to earn that annual fee.

We will also be there on July 13th.

9:15 reservation. I guess we'll be done by 1 am.

See you there!

I was there in Febuary. I called 1 week before, they called me back with a reservation. It is a great place to dine, a true experience, but I have had better. Overrated IMO. I actually thought Joel Roubechon in Vegas was better, but definitely a top 5 meal of mine. When you wine and dine in NOLA, some things are hard to beat. Have fun, it is a good experience.

Shoot, I couldn't even get into per se.

All of these restaurants with the three months out, two months, out, 28 days out rules, are fibbing. Its just a big lie.

I've been twice and made reservations once a few weeks in advance and the other was on someone else but she did about the same time as me.

My advice is to go to Ad Hoc his other restaurant. It's better and half the cost. Also try Redd and definitely Goose and Gander.

French Laundry to say you did it is about what it's worth.
