I started a few years ago going RB-RB and this year was my first year going WR-RB and RB-WR in both my leagues.

With the ridiculous amount of injuries to RBs this year and the ever more serious change of most teams to RBBC, I think I will be rolling WR-WR next year.

Too many top end WRs out there, that succomb to less impact and wear and tear.

Unless for obvious reasons if I get 1st overall. AP gonna AP.

Can't really have a strategy going in, have to take what the draft gives you.

I am eyeing up WR's more this year than any other, simply because there are so few options at the RB spot.

But because the elite RB's are so scarce and WR's plentiful I'm almost more inclined to take an elite RB immediately if he falls to me simply because hardly anyone else in the league will have one.

Couldn't tell you the order I went in any leagues, the order of positions drafted is less important than what pick you have and that's pretty useless.

Definitely the trend. I think it's about time to get rid of the 1 PPT PPR leagues and change to to .5 points. This past year 12 of the top 13 rb/wrs in a 1 point PPR league were WRs.

This. But rather than being hard-headed and going RB-RB almost 90% of the time it's probably BWRA+RB in the first two rounds in whatever order that is. I'd still be hesitant going WR-WR, as there were lots of receivers with significant downtime too. And there's also the Randall Cobb's.

I lost the championship in one league because of both Jeffrey and M Bryant. RB's were fine, but losing Jeffrey and having Bryant tank did me in. - In a league I went RB-RB in.

This. Never won before in any of my leagues and this year went WR heavy and won all three. Consistent WR play this year and key waiver wire pickups is the winning combo. Hightower and David Johnson led me to a championship. Not the RBs I drafted, cough cough...DeMarco Murray.

Bell is the only one I'm 100% taking in round 1 if there.

I love gurley's talent but unless they fall arse backwards into a QB worth a frick this offseason, in that division he's going to have shitty weeks that kill you.

Went WR WR RB this year and was happy with it. Tough year for first round RBs.

Next year is going to interesting with lots of eggs being placed in this years RB basket. I foresee a lot of overcompensation and zero-RB strategies failing and the value driven owners stocking up on RBs.

RBs in general are not as easy to come by as they were this season and I see this year more as an outlier.

Not taking a top RB just because he falls to me. Cj Anderson and Andre Ellington fricked me over..I'm pissed that they fell to me.

Going after WR's hard, maybe Gronk if it works

Went WR heavy this year, but had bad luck

Dez went down with injury and DT88 had Manning's fluff arm resulting in almost no TD's. Julio was good at first but Matty Ice sucks.

BTW this was a salary league that used actual salary cap numbers from the NFL.(DT88 was a keeper)

I'm not sure injuries to RBs is an outlier.

Handcuffing I think is more important now IMO. I used not be very big on it because I was of the belief that if your stud goes down all you had was a guy getting carries , just a warm body. I now lean more towards RB is just a position of opportunity. You have a guy getting the work and you'll get good to serviceable production. Look at the RBs many of the championship squads were starting...Hightower, David Johnson, Char West, Allen. None, save David Johnson, would be considered exceptional talents, just guys getting the workload.

A RBs production is replaceable. Whereas, if I draft Julio and he goes down, picking up the Falcons WR2 isn't going to replace the hole in my roster. So basically, if you go RB early, you have to invest in the right handcuff late in the draft instead of buying up other lotto tickets.

Wasn't my point.

Top RBs were cheap and widely available this season. Injuries aside, Freeman and Woodhead were #1 and #3 finishers in PPR leagues and were low-valued targets in drafts. AP and Forte were probably the only Top 10 PPG qualifiers that went in the 1st round or $40+ in auctions. The waiver wire produced more serviceable starting RBs than in any year I can remember.

Using this year's data to decide to go WR-WR-WR next year is fools gold IMO. Especially considering that zero-RB is a contrarian strategy. It can work successfully when 2-4 of 12 teams are using it. When 8-10 of 12 decide to go that route AND expect RBs to appear like they did this year, I'm foreseeing a bunch of teams starving at RB.

I get the idea that WRs will dominate the first round next year. Grab Julio, AB, OBJ, Nuk and then build around your stud. But in most years serviceable WRs appear much more often than serviceable RBs.

And believe me, I went zero-RB or hybrid in about half of my leagues this year - I like to hedge my bets - with decent success. I know you had great success this year and know your stuff.

This is more for those thinking that because of this year of the "free RB" that de facto rolling out zero-RB next year will win them championships is foolish. FF is fluid.

I play in 1pt PPR leagues and won both this year while going WR-WR. My WR play was super consistent (Julio in one & A.Brown in the other), but it still all hinges on: (1) keeping stud players healthy (2) focusing on drafting guys that get a heavy workload @ their position in a 'friendly' offensive scheme (3) keeping a hawk eye on the waiver wire for future value

I draft best available according to my cheat sheet. Caused me to go wr first three rounds this year. Ended up scoring most points in my league and winning the playoffs.

WR-WR-best available

QB can been had later. RB injuries have destroyed me each of the past 2 seasons. I've had enough.
