Karma?

Jumpy, most prefer a dynasty. Does that mean you would be out?

From my standpoint, a dynasty is better for continuity than a redraft.

We had a 12 team league where we kept 5 out of our 15 each year. Every year, teams in contention would sell all of their draft picks to compete and midway through the season there were only 6 teams competing. Then after the season, those contending teams would trade fringe keepers for draft picks. It was just a flawed format, pretty much everyone agreed. So much so that teams like SFP and Karma gave up stacked teams to change formats.

We voted on an auction redraft, but some teams wanted to add keepers to the mix. We came up with a formula auction value for keepers, which would increase each year. It made it to where people were unsure about trading, plus we were all new to basketball auctions and it was just not fun for a lot of people. It was overly complicated. All but like 3 owners told me they were quitting.

My recommendation was to do a dynasty last year because it was so similar to our old TDBBL but it was shot down.

In TDBA we have 18 team rosters. We can decide how many we want (jumpy proposes 20). Then we have a snake draft to start it out.

After the season, we do a weighted lottery for the rookie draft order, which is 2 rounds and is not a snake. We call it a rookie draft, but you can draft non-rookies too, there just aren't going to be many worth anything since the rosters are deep.

Other than that, it's pretty much the same. We also have a rule that you cannot trade draft picks beyond the year that you are in. I can trade my 2018 draft pick, but cannot trade my 2019 pick until after the 2018 draft has completed.

Starting next year we're going to have 20. Voting passed to expand 2 spots.

Any thoughts on the most recent draft guys being in a separate draft like we did in TDBA?

Balance out the luck in landing into a top 3 pick..

That was a great way to do it IMO. If you get the 14th pick you get the best rookie prospect.

So say we have 20 roster spots.

Do a draft with 18, and then do a rookie draft that is reverse order of the snake draft?

Meaning if Karma gets the 14th pick of the regular draft, he would pick first in the rookie draft?

Yea first "rookie draft" would be snake and not snake going forward. Need that 14 for Ball!
