I wanted 1 more inning out of Hilliard

So let me get this straight...people are losing their minds because Hilliard didn’t pitch one more inning..cause zero chance he should go further than that. So who comes in after that? Coleman right? So he magically doesn’t give up runs because we waited an extra inning?
How do you figure a starting pitcher cruising at 76 pitches only has a max of 1 inning left?
If he goes 2 and we still have the lead, you finish with Fontenot.

I would have pulled him too. Hilliard had a good outing but he’s got two pitches and the top of the lineup was about to see him again.
If Doughty throws the fricking ball none of this shite is being said.
I love crapping on Paul as much as the next guy but tonight ain’t the night. Downvote away…
This is how I feel.
Hilliard pitch count was getting up there. At best he had an inning left.
It wasn’t a crazy decision.

Paul has a thing for Coleman. He had him tossing for almost two innings just waiting to go in for a senior who was shoving it.

Considering the work he put in last week, 90ish pitches is about all PM could defend

If we went into Game 1 of a Super with the mindset that we’d be “happy” to get 5 innings out of our starting pitcher, then he shouldn’t have been our starting pitcher to begin with. Or you have the wrong mindset.
Perfect response to this bullshite.

Why are you agreeing with me and posting to me like you’re not agreeing with me.
I was backing you up. Paul didn’t just start doing this.

The reason pawl is “retiring”. Dude strikes out the side throwing BB’s and take him out the game on a feeling. So glad this tenure is over. I pray they win it all but it’s so hard as a fan to watch this shite show.

He didn’t start the game tired from his one inning on Monday.

Well it's a good thing you aren't a candidate for the coaching job

What a crock! He threw about 75 pitches last weekend.

This. If Hilliard could have gotten past the 7th inning we didn’t have to try Coleman, who might I remind you is a freshman.

But that was last weekend.
You always take this risk when you change pitchers. It gives the other team a different mental approach knowing a new guy is in.
We also left Marceaux in when we could have went to Fontenot. I prefer leaving in the guy dealing as long as possible.

And if he gives up a 3 run bomb all the threads say “why didn’t Paul pull him”.
I don’t think anyone even had it in their mind to even suggest pulling him after 76 pitches.
So let’s say he had 2 runners on base and let’s say he was at 80 pitches with the go ahead at the plate.
I still don’t think we would be calling to pull him.
We would ride our guy.
There was no reason to pull Hilliard unless Hilliard asked to come out.
Ding, turn the page

What a phucking lame answer.
That's a complete joke.
What a waste of these past 12 seasons.

Leave him in if he has an inning left. Another inning would have been huge.

Game wasn’t lost until the last pitch.

At least say you didn’t want him facing the heart of the line up again but frick this thought process.
He did.
