End of the month traffic citations are out of control

On my way home from the gym today and I was pulled over for an expired tag. Before I start my rant- yeah it’s expired (my fault) but that’s beside the point. It’s not about the money, it’s principle. It’s the principality, Smokey!
The officer’s vehicle was in a left turn lane stopped at a red light. As the light changed from red to green for the left turn arrow he spots my vehicle’s expired tag and proceeds to stay stopped till the main traffic light turned green and then makes his way over behind me, causing everyone behind him in the left turn lane to miss the light. Just thought that was ridiculous in and of itself for an expired tag.
Normal pullover procedure ensues, and I end up being issued a citation for the expired tag. It happened about half a mile down the road from where I live so then after that I continued on my way home. Just on that one road alone I saw 4 more people pulled over and another 2 squad cars driving up ahead of me. What a bunch of cocksuckers.
I can’t stand the way government is bleeding its taxpayers dry. Thinking about showing up to the courthouse on Oct 3rd in a clown suit and voicing my outrage.
TL;DR I broke the law, and the law won.

You're just pissed because you got caught.

Stop complaining while your arse is being protected and served. Be a good citizen and pay your tribute.

There are tickets that people receive that I can understand bitching about. Doing less than 5 MPH over the speed limit, not using a blinker even though no one is behind or in front of you, not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign even though nothing is coming from either direction, etc. But this, this is too easy to avoid and in my opinion you have no right to gripe.

Was this on Staring?
If so, I saw it happen.

You have rapidly become the most annoying dumb as a box of dicks poster on the entire website. Did you have to work hard to be such a dickhead or did it just come naturally?

Have you thought about taking this on the road and lecturing to elementary school classes? It's an outrage that they're being misled by Schoolhouse Rock on the inner workings of our government.

You do that and I promise that I will pay for the one of the OT lawyers of your choice to represent you in court.
I only have three conditions.
1) You have to dress up as full clown. No simply wearing a tie with a clown on it or some other bullshite.
2) My max budget for your representation is 700 bucks.
3) You have to go all the way and take it to a trial (or hearing or whatever they call it in traffic court) None of this settling for a seat belt ticket crap.

Mandeville Police have been doing this (brake tags) all month long. Last week a motorcycle cop was parked under the 190 overpass and pointing at people with expired tags to pull over. If that where me, I'm not pulling over, you're going to earn that ticket and get your fatass on the bike and come get me.
Sorry officer, I didn't see you point a finger at me. I didn't realize that was proper protocol.

Can you tell me why it makes sense we have to pay the government once a year for a sticker?

That's a different argument altogether. Same with registration cards. I may disagree with them, but I know it's the law so I pay it and stay legal.

It's dumb and may be completely pointless, but it is what it is. If you simply were not driving around with an expired sticker you wouldn't have been pulled over. Blaming somebody else for something you could have very easily prevented is dumb. Stop playing the victim.

Small government at work

How could they even tell without a microscope?

No it’s not. Continuously break the law, and you’ll eventually get caught. It’s not rocket science.

I admitted I was at fault in my OP. What I’m bitching about more broadly is the high point of issued citations towards the end of the month. There were half a dozen other police vehicles in less than a quarter mile radius. It’s transparent predation by the government to basically collect more money from its taxpayers through indirect channels of frickery.
