Same with the Borzoi.

Cool dogs. They were created by the Russian aristocracy to hunt wolves.

Border Collies are smart because they have to work with the shepherds day in day out to get the job done.

Fixed it for you.

Think about it, the criteria here is not independent problem solving "get yourself out of a trap" stuff, it is working with people. That is why working and herding breeds do best in these tests.

There are always exceptions. My half German Shepherd half Golden Retriever is a retard. My Yorkie is a genius.

If poodles had not become the poster dog for aristocracy, and not considered to be a prissy dog by people, I'm convinced they'd be the most popular dogs in the country.

Not sure how, but these breeds get much dumber once you mix them together. At least my Doodles are pretty derp derp.
Maybe the family tree for them is a bit Arkansian?

They can be over-bred.

The Labradoodle in my extended family is really sharp.

Knows at least 20 words (people, commands, objects, etc...)

This is the thing about these lists for breed intelligence. It's really just trainability and obedience, which is not the same thing as intelligence.

Our dog is a Treeing Walker Coonhound/Bloodhound mix. Food is his number one motivator. No food, no fricks given.

My labradoodle is the smartest dog I’ve ever had. She’s very hyper and acts out to get attention but she knows exactly what we want and exactly what’s going on

We've got a pug, #108 on the list. She's pretty fricking dumb. But at least once a day she'll do something that makes you wonder if she's just playing dumb to get what she wants done for her.

"Time for bed, Nessie!"

Dog looks at me but doesn't move. Repeat about 3 times.

Finally go pick her up and take her to bed and she's happy as shite. I think she just likes getting carried to bed like a queen.

Yeah, it’s awesome to pay $2,500 for a dog with every health problem under the sun, a short life span, and barely two brain cells to rub together. Plus they slobber everywhere and smell like shite. On top of that, if you take them outside in summer they can die. Awesome breed.

Obeying commands is not the definition of intelligence. Any dog can be trained!, my West Highland Terrier “Westie” is smarter than all those mutts listed.

I currently own a Golden Retriever. Very smart dog. Will bring me his harness when he is ready for a walk. Doesn't need a leash. He can also be stubborn though. Sometimes I think he is too smart for his own good.

My parents own a medium labradoodle and it is the smartest dog I've even been around. He knows a ton of commands, goes and gets the paper every morning, and will open up doors if he wants to go into a different room. That last part got so annoying for my parents that they changed from door handles to door knobs.
