Again who else was unbeaten that year? BYU couldn't go to any other bowl if they wanted to.
They were suppose to play top 10 LSU in the Holiday Bowl that year.
LSU opened the season with tie vs Florida, then defeated Zona, USC, lost to Notre Dame and went into their final SEC contest against Miss State, undefeated in the conference play.
Miss. State pulled the upset, sending Florida to the Sugar Bowl and 8-2-1 LSU was to play BYU in the Holiday Bowl.
Then the news broke about severity of Florida illegal payments, they had fired their HC after the second game of the season when he started 0-1-1. The SEC president voted to strip Florida from SEC contention for that season and the next two seasons. LSU replaced Florida in the Sugar Bowl and Michigan who wasn't going to a bowl replaced LSU in the Holiday Bowl.
-check the non conference schedules LSU & Florida had that season
Arizona, USC, Notre Dame, Tulane
Miami, Tulane, Syracuse, Florida State

No one was deserving really. I think the best team in 2007 by ability was Oklahoma but they had to go and lose to Texas Tech.
What were you, like 10 in 2007? Hot takes looking at the Wikipedia summary of 2007.

LSU played 8 teams ranked in the top-25 in 2007.
Oklahoma played 4 ranked teams.

1-1 vs LSU that year. That year's LSU team is one of the most accomplished of all time. Blew out the Pac 12 and big East winners, demolished number 3 Arkansas, demolished sec east champ, beat the "national champs" at their house.

Definitely.
We should claim 84 since a poll listed in the records books gave us a trophy.

There was zero justification for that team being in the BCS Championship Game. The slogan of the BCS was "every game counts" - that proved to be fraudulent.
Next to Roy Jones Jr at the Seoul Olympics, it is the worst travesty in the history of sport.
