I've read the few threads on here about safety razors & the benefits thereof.

Wow! Best shave I've ever had. Thanks OT!

Edit: I usually use a 5 blade razor, but I was curious. Tonight I went out and bought a safety razor. Wow! You guys were right. It gave me an awesome shave! No nicks, no cuts, no pulling the hairs, nothing but an amazing shave! It gave me one of the closet shaves I've ever had (better than the 5 blade razors!) It also left my skin feeling very, very smooth. I am hooked. I will never go back to my former razors anymore. From here on out it is nothing but a safety razor for me!

I've been using one for a couple of years now. I love it. Smoothest shaves ever.

Just be sure and use a good quality blade and it will make the experience even that much better.

And just hope you don't get bit by the bug and start buying antique razors.

Great shave and I spend about $10 a year on razors.

Anyone ever had a barber or other professional give them a shave? Worth it or waste?

It's all I've used for about 4 years now. But it's hard to believe you had a perfectly fine experience if it was your first time. I hacked my face up for about 3 weeks before I really figured it out . Now I can fly without getting cuts. At first, I was not so lucky.

This thread is nothing more than hipster bullshite. Use the safety razor, twirl your man bun, and teach your children that old school is always best. The styptic pencil industry loves you.

I bought one about 3 weeks ago and after using it the first time, my first thought was "why would anyone use anything else". It was the cleanest shave I had in awhile and if I go several days without shaving, if I use a razor with 4 or 5 blades the hair gets caught up in it easy and doesn't come out as easy.

Now, I just need to find a better shaving cream or something. I want to keep my head shaved and shaving cream doesn't work. I had several cuts the one time I did it, does anyone know if there is a waxy type of shaving cream or something that is better than the foam shaving cream?

Man I miss my safety razor. Won't let us use em in here though. bic single blades only, and we have to turn em in after we shave too

I've been thinking about making the switch for a while, now. I finally made the plunge today. My new setup, which will arrive tomorrow:

Merkur MK23C long handle razor
Henry Cavendish Himalaya shaving soap
Ceramic mug with a ball handle
Miusco badger hair brush
Feather blades
