And don't tell me Kikaha and Okafor will make some big difference.

ANY addition is better than we had last year. Plus Okafor wasn't bad at all last season. He was ranked 5th in Qb pressure per snap with 17.85%. Okafor is going to surprise a lot of people if healthy.

Jordan, Fairley, Rankins all set starters who can pass rush. Well be fine between. Kikaha, Okafor, and Hendrickson at the other spot.

Well. Hendrickson is a 3rd round pick. Not some random flyer. He has potential.

And a healthy Rankins in year 2 could certainly take a jump. He had some sacks last season.

Tell me what pick we could have made that would have been a clear upgrade?

I'll wait.

So adding pass rushers doesn't count?

Waste of a thread. These "prove to me" threads are pointless. One:you clearly believe that it won't. Two: why the f*ck do we have to prove anything to you? Why don't you go do some research, instead of b*tching on a forum. Pull your skirt down Mary.

Our secondary won't be depleted where Crawely is starting at corner. We probably had 0 coverage sacks last year just because nobody was open, I'm willing to bet we'll get some this year.

What kind of jack arse question is this? You ask a question but can't put two of the players we have into the answer?

GTFO of here with that BS. You just wanna huff and puff. It's a waste of time because no answer will suffice. You have you're mind made up.

1. New DL position coach. The Johnson nightmare is over.

2. Our DL is very young and injured previously. Rankins, Onyemata, Kikaha are all a year more experienced, and Kik is now healthy.

3. Okafor is a very good contributor.

4. We just drafted two pass rushers.

okafor better be the diamond in the rough they expect him to be. Like 8-10 sacks

Rankins needs to net 6-8 sacks

Kikaha & or Hen need to provide pressure on obvious passing downs

1) Kikaha played well his rookie season. A rotation of him and Onyamata, Okafor and Hendrickson is better than last year.

2) Fairley and Rankins should be a good team in the middle.

3) Better secondary with Lattimore and Williams, a healthy Breaux and Swann and hopefully an improved Bell will help not make for easy throws and completions.

4) A.J. Klein and Te'o will hopefully provide better defensive pass protection leading to more time to get to the QB.

Better corners allowing for man to man coverage and blitzing.

Okafor has proven he can rush the passer at this level, as be provided efficient rushing across from Jones

quote:

While Okafor recorded only 29 total pressures – including four sacks – in 2016, he did it on just 180 pass-rushing snaps as he played a limited role and became a situational pass-rusher last season. In fact, while his previous career high was 50.1 percent, 77.9 percent of Okafor’s snaps came as a pass-rusher in 2016 as he earned an overall grade above 52.0 for the first time in his career – he graded out at 72.5 in his fourth season.

Kikaha is healthy enough for OTAs, and we added the most efficient college pass rusher.

Also, having Rankins for the year, along with experience, will pair nicely for interior pressure with Fairley.

So, secondary that allows for blitzing due to their man2man skills, and the 4 additions compared to last year on that side.

Do you really think there wasn't a spot where we could have upgraded that position?

why wouldn't i use Okafor?

even if he only can provide 6-7 sacks, that's solid in a platoon

rankins getting to play the whole year plus a much improved secondary will make great leaps for our DL. Cam's insane # of pressures without sacks will turn into more sacks and our opposing side and interior will improve in terms of pressure over 16 games
