Hey guys ..

Looks like Cox is screwing with me and promised to not raise my cable bill but did. Not putting up with it. What's the current opinions on what they are using? I sat on Directv now but let it expire after the 90 days/Apple TV deal.

Last time I used Sling I just hated the interface.

Seems to me if you don't have the $35 deal with DTVN Vue is the way to go. But that said if you want HBO (which I do) DTVN is a better deal.

I still have zero issues with my DTVN service. Its been great for me so far. I will say tho when on Fire Tv, it tends to buffer a fair amount. on ATV, it's flawless.

What do you like to watch? I've got Direct Tv Now and the Apple TV and I love it. No problems at all whatsoever, though I may have to upgrade my package soon because the $35 one is lacking. Also, no live ABC hurts because I want to watch the NBA Finals but I guess I'll have to go to my friends for that.

Sling has updated their interface.

Also reliability is a lot better.

I like sling. I used to hate Sling. They've improved.

My friend has DTV now and i like it when i use it.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

As far as what I watch I find at the 35 range the channels are pretty similar

T-Mobile gives you 30% off a month for Sling, so with HBO it's $30 but I want to use Apple TV and they don't have DVR yet for ATV.

I kick myself for letting the DTVN deal drop but Cox swore they would give me the same deal.

If I start atreamng again I plan to buy a Tablo.

DTVN is great if you're using Apple TV.. on fire devices, its terrible.

I can't comment on Vue

Do you turn the TV on and just let it play in the background for noise? Or are there specific shows you watch on a regular basis?

We have Vue and DTVN, and more and more we find ourselves downloading the individual channel apps and then using our credentials to watch shows that way

I am on dtv now with the initial $35 deal and free HBO. It is ok. We use an Amazon fire box and there are still times when it buffers constantly, or channels drop off the guide. I don't believe it is an internet issue because I've never had a problem with any other streaming app.

Until January we had Vue. It was extremely reliable but I personally hated the interface. Seemed difficult to navigate for me.

We left Vue because they lost Viacom channels. We have young kids so Nick Jr is one of the main channels we watch.

All in all, if Vue got Nick Jr back we would switch back immediately. Seemed much more reliable and I'm still amazed that dtv now still doesn't have a Roku app. We have 2 tvs with Roku boxes.

I've had DTV since the beginning and it has improved leaps and bounds. We haven't had any service problems in a while. Also like that I can stream it data free on my phone since I'm an AT&T customer.

Downside: still no DVR. That needs to be coming this year.

Playstation Vue seems to be the deal to beat. Especially if you own a PS4. Talk about an all-in-one media hub.

DTVNow just added 72 Hour rewind back. They removed it early on to get stability under control. It looks like they are fleshing it out still, but this morning it was back. So the good news there is they are still actively and aggressively working on it.

I took a long look at switching to a streaming service, but each has their issues....

Ps vue doesn't have Viacom (big deal for my wife). Apparently their Roku app sucks. No lakers or dodgers network

DIRECTV no dvr. No roku app. No lakers or dodgers.

I have 3 tvs, and don't feel like needing to replace all three of my otherwise great Roku 3s.

Just started messing around with Vue. The website looks great, nice interface, I like the Guide feature. But the Roku looks like a really stripped down version. My main TV would run off of the Roku, so I'm not sure how much I like this option.

Does the PS4 have a better interface, more like the website? My PS4 is upstairs in the loft, but I really don't plan to move it, it's where I send my kids when I need to get away from them for a bit.

Count me as a vote for Vue. Did 7 day trial for sling as well and Vue was definitely better IMO.

Have a leaf for local channels.

I just cut the cord about a week ago and i have comcast internet. I get 75gb download speed for 70 a month this includes 30 add on channels with locals and free hbo. These are the only two things with noting on the internet.
Have a family so this makes my decision a little more difficult. We have 2 xbox ones and like 2 tables plus the Roku streaming player. so devices are not an issue.
These are the current Services i have:
1)Comcast provides the locals and HBO -$70 @month
2)netflix - 3 tv's - $12 @month
3)Amazon Prime - $50
4)sony vue 30.00 -great channels for this price
and up to 5 simultaneous at same time
So my monthly total for internet and TV service
70-comcast
11-netflix
4- prime
30-Vue
----
115 @ month

saving about 40 a month and thats with adding netflix.

The best part is i can drop packages change providers at anytime with no penalities. Its a work in progress but loving it so far. No buffering issues or anything

Another question - about PS Vue. Installed the app on my Firestick. Flawless download. Opened app. Fine. BUT then it told me that to use the app I must enter my PlayStation code. I don't own a PS and don't want one. I'm guessing I can't use VUE. Thoughts?
