re: Last Minute VRBO Deals on the Gulf - Miz Piggy
Phoenix properties in Orange Beach
Thanks - good to hear a recommendation! I've saved several of them on VRBO. Probably the largest kitchens of the ones I've found so far....

re: Last Minute VRBO Deals on the Gulf - Miz Piggy
What dates are you looking for?
Not sure how many days, but like 8/23 - 8/27. Either a studio or 1 BR (just me and the mister) and we're really not particular to where, as long as it's right on the beach. I was thinking 20% would be a fair offer, if it's not already marked down...

re: Last Minute VRBO Deals on the Gulf - Miz Piggy
I've used VRBO lots, but I've never negotiated a last minute discount. Trying to figure out a fair opening - 30% off advertised rate? Waive the cleaning fee? ETA: I'm probably going to actually wait until a few days before the trip to start making offers, so I they'll more than likely be facing ...

Last Minute VRBO Deals on the Gulf - Miz Piggy
Anyone have any luck getting a deal by booking a Gulf condo at the last minute? If so, how late did you wait to book and what deal did you get? Looking for a studio or 1 BR anywhere from Fort Morgan to Rosemary Beach the last week of August, so I'm thinking there will be plenty of inventory. $95 ...
Shithead, Female, and Lemongelo & Orangelo are thinly veiled racist tropes that have never occurred.
Nope, this was absolutely true. She was a story on our local news a couple of years ago. My husband about laughed his arse off....

re: Honolulu reccomendations - Miz Piggy
it's not really great in terms of beaches per se
This. I was completely underwhelmed by the beach itself. We were told that the native sand is all gone and they had to bring in sand from elsewhere. The views are what make it spectacular, and you can do that from any of the bars, re...

re: Honolulu reccomendations - Miz Piggy
My favorite thing we did in Honolulu was the [link=(http://www.hawaiifoodtours.com/hole-in-the-wall-tour/)]Hole in the Wall Food Tour[/link]. They took us out of the tourist areas to places we never would have discovered on our own. We also enjoyed the Honolulu fish auction - it's a great activit...

re: St. Louis--getting around - Miz Piggy
You gotta go at least once. The last time I visited, I used Google to get there and discovered it was right off of 70! Let's just say my original MapQuest printout from back in the day took me on a far less scenic route from the CWE!...

re: St. Louis--getting around - Miz Piggy
Depending on how far your hotel is off of the line, that's what I would do. But I lived there before Uber, so that wasn't an option. I don't think you could go wrong either way (unless you're arriving/departing at a high traffic time of day, then the Metro could save you some time). ...

re: St. Louis--getting around - Miz Piggy
I used to live near the Central West End MetroLink stop (across from Forest Park and around the corner from the Basilica). Took it to the airport and downtown all the time. Uber should get you anywhere else you want to go. ...

Hot Springs: There's [link=(http://www.magicsprings.com/)]Magic Springs,[/link] but it would pale in comparison to Silver Dollar City in Branson or Six Flags in STL. Would be a cheaper option, though. [link=(http://www.midamericamuseum.org/)]Museum of Mid-America[/link] Rent a boat on Lak...

re: Suggestions For Hot Springs AR - Miz Piggy
Not my area of expertise, but I do know summer is usually the floating off season for the more challenging rivers. The Cossatot is usually regarded as the most challenging river and is near Hot Springs. I believe it's more of a kayaking river. The Mulberry has rafting, but it's in the Northwest s...
