My daughter insisted on going to GC to celebrate her bday, she was told by a friend at school that there was a chocolate fountain and was all over that. We reluctantly obliged.

Holy shite

serves you right for your shitty parenting. As her father you should have explained to her that nice, non-trashy people dont go to GC. Then you should have found an alternative chocolate source.

now go punish her for having trashy friends.

Those fricking GC regulars lol at sneeze guards. They also lick the serving spoons. I'll stick to the food truck at the Tiger Bend split.

Every finished table had dirty/partially full plates stacked a foot high. Scraps everywhere and even on the floors.

My wife damn near had an anxiety attack in there, so crowded and even more gross.

I don't believe you had such an experience at a Golden Corral..

Seriously, I ate there once. Once day me and a coworker were going to lunch and we couldn't decide on what we felt like eating so, since neither of us had ever eaten at one, we decided to try the Golden Corral.

The food wasn't horrible, but when I bit into the chicken, it was not warm.. maybe even a little cooler than room temp. My coworker had the same chicken as I did and his was warm. I didn't eat it because.. Well because it wasn't warm and it just seemed odd.

As we are eating, I am just watching all the people at the buffet who hovers over the food. Someone putting something in their plate, then deciding they don't want it (they did use utensils, so it wasn't as if they were touching it, but still). There were kids telling their parents what they wanted. I saw one touch a dessert and the parent telling them not to do that.. This is something that all buffets are subjected to, but it just seemed to have more dirty people than average.

There are just too many other options that I would rather pick, than go to GC.

Isn't it ironic how Golden Corral and Gary Chambers have the same initials?

The wife and I tried it last weekend (around 3pm on Saturday) and there was a small line even then.

Food was good, our waitress was up-beat and attentive and all of the silverware and plates were clean (and plentiful).

It's not a place I would go every day, but once the "new" wears off we might try it again to see how it's changed.

I thought I might give it a try while it was still and they were trying to attract customers. I doubt after the newness wears off it will be worth going.

According to the OP, the newness wore off after 1 week.

Surprise surprise, its riveting story time with Chris!

You don't think someone has had a horrible experience at a Golden Coral because you went to one and it wasn't that bad? That makes zero sense

Oddly enough, only 8% fecal matter.

Down from 15% this time last year. The new manager doing work.

The fact that Golden Corral reuses silverware and looking at some of the patrons that place their morbid fat lips on them makes me absolutely sick to my stomach.

If it bothers you, then don't read the mother fricker.

Maybe I didn't get my point across well enough. I was just stating my experience at GC. It wasn't horrible, but I was just saying it not an environment I prefer to visit again. That is my take on it, it has nothing to do with someone else.

You are trying too hard.

I'm LMAO. I was reading Chris' post and kept wondering where it was going.

Three paragraphs later I figured It could be summed up in a few words: Chris ate at Golden Coral.

You go to a GC anywhere in Texas and it's a different story.

I live in the area and don't think they've had trouble trying to attract customers since it opened.
