Our son is only two, but we have zero desire to homeschool. My wife doesn't want to have to put her legal career on the shelf and I would go crazy at home all day. Private school it is if the Trump administration fricks up North Cobb County (some of the best public schools in Georgia) schools.

This is something I saw on Facebook. A local SJW is all triggered over this appointment.

I haven't looked, but I am guessing it's either KB or MM.

And I'm going with KB.

Poor thing is truly one cracked nut.

I'm from Ohio. Ohio has a pretty damned good public school system too. Most southern states have abysmal school systems. Georgia's are extremely hit or miss. We're lucky enough to have just bought a house in one of the best school districts in the state so I hope they hold up under this imbecilic appointee.

You're right. Whenever I meet successful, socially adept people and the topic of education comes up 9/10 they graduated from Kitchen Table School.

I was homeschooled all the way up to college. Turned out fine.

Had nothing to do with any DOE, either. Stop letting shrill people on social media influence your thoughts so much.

cents which means nothing, but if kids are being home schooled, it should be required for them to have some type social interaction with peers, on a regular basis.

We had two homeschooled kids that played HS sports with us.

We home-schooled our two kids. They both got high AC tease and function very well at LSU. Daughter was a university medalist which is a perfect 4.0 through 2 degrees and an honors college. Is getting her PhD at Baylor now. You can complain about homeschool failures you've seen But the overwhelming evidence is that it is Superior in every way

Home schooled kids are weird and every parent who home schools their kid is a lunatic. (unless the kid is sick and can't go to school)

My little brother played HS football in all-homeschool leagues and eventually was a walk on for A&M as a linebacker.

Homeschooled my son from 5-12 grades. He made a 30 on ACT and received a full ride to LSU. Currently HS my daughter through eLearning in Thibodaux. We are lucky that my wife can stay home and be with our kids. There is so much BS in public and private schools we just didn't want to deal with it anymore. The best part of HS is we can go in vacation whenever we want...there is a lot more freedom than people think.

I always thought it was weird but now that I have three kids in school I can see the attraction. I think the whims of policy from common core, to not, to in between have been problematic.

Sometimes I wonder what they could accomplish in all that time going to and fro.

There's a school near us that's a hybrid program where kids go two days a week and are home schooled otherwise. Heard great things.

The only people I've encountered that homeschool are creationist, anti-vax loons. I pity those kids having to spend 24 hours a day with their loony toons moms who don't know shite about shite.

Ideally, I'd want my kids to go to excellent public schools.

I am a little curious about secular homeschooling as I don't know much about it.
