Haven't played RE7, but I heard it's amazing in VR. Nioh's been a blast though so it seems like you can't go wrong

Beat the first 3 main missions and the first 4 side missions. Kinda letdown by the side missions, they just take place on segmented areas of the main maps and have you killing mobs.
May be bc I played them in the demos, but the ogre on the ship and the bat bitch were too easy. Stopped right before Tachibana castle

I'm about to head there one I finish this one sub mission I have left for the first region. I found this one spear that is straight up broken

I had to get carried doing the 2nd boss.
I'll say that I feel that the base game is a bit easier from the Alpha, but the boss fights are really brutal. The 2nd boss is so tough with the paralysis (although I didn't realize you could use an item to recover while stunned). I had to get carried.
That said, it's pretty fun to just roll through the side quests. It's a good way to reuse areas.
P.S. Soul matching is expensive but OP. You don't have to throw away weapons and armor that have good sub stats. Just level them up.

I'm actually kinda disappointed by the bosses. I've beaten all of them on my first try except Tachibana Munishege (2nd fight in the field), and it only took me 2 attempts to beat him.

Tachibana is shitting on my soul right now. I can't seem to put a whole fight together against him or when I seem to be chugging along he'll just cheese me with 3 iaigiris in a fricking row with almost no pause between them

Wow, then I guess I need to git gud. Spider woman would still be owning me. The first boss on the ship took me two tries.

I found that play styles are usually more the reason why people struggle with some fights and not others. Some fights for me in Souls games are impossible while others struggle, and vice/versa.
