Starting Jan 1 2017, many models will no longer be allowed to be repaired due to the recall. I came across one of these yesterday.

If you have a top-loading Samsung washer, check the model number here and see if your model is affected. They will provide replacement either monetarily or suitable model exchange.
You may also be eligible to be refunded for pump replacement and spring replacement as both were directly related to that is being recalled. (I know I have done dozens of spring and pump replacements)

Just wanted to tell owners of top load Samsungs (many of who have chimed in support for their model in Washer recommendation threads) to check the model and call Samsung asap if affected.

How does this happen with a washer? Are people riding them like a bull in the rodeo?

shite, the Samsung piece of shite washer, that I put to the road earlier this year when I got my Speed Queen, is probably on that list. I should've went full redneck and left it on my carport for 6 months and could've cashed in. I seriously wouldn't put another Samsung appliance in my home if you gave it to me. I'd turn around and sell it.

"Don't make em like they used to" is usually nonsense.... except washer/dyers.

Even maytags are crap nowadays.

shite mine is 11 months old and on that list.

ETA: just wanted to add that I have their dryer too and had to replace the tension pulley after 5 months. It basically melted. Guy said they didn't grease it from the factory or something.

Was just looking at one of these at Lowe's earlier. On sale for $499 ($350 off). Are you saying if I buy this in the next few days, I'll never be able to have it serviced?

Thanks for the heads up. We have all Samsung appliances and have really loved our washer so far, but I didn't know it was a death machine time bomb.

I've heard nothing but bad things about Samsung appliances. Surprising considering how good their tv's are.

Between this and the exploding bomb phones, they should probably just focus on tv's

Thanks Nap!

My mom's is on there WA45H70000 AW/A2. I went and put in the model and serial number at their site. They're not even offering her $350.00 if she doesn't buy one of theirs. She bought some kind of extended warranty from Lowes, so we're going to go talk with them about that.

My dad had a stroke, so I should say, "I'm going down to talk with them about it."

I have this model. I think they are offering a $496 rebate if I get another Samsung and $100 less if I get any other brand. I actually like the washer and wouldn't mind keeping it. Are there any recommendations if you should get the repair or get a new washer? To get a similar model from Samsung would still cost me $50-$100 after the rebate.

But again, I have had no complaints, and I like the 4.8 cuft of space in it.

ETA: I have been using it fairly heavily for exactly (to the day) 2 years.

I think the problem mainly comes from people overloading and washing stuff they shouldn't like water resistant stuff.

Thanks for the info, we had no idea. We bought the washer/dryer set from Lowe's about a month before our house was finished being built and had them hold it until then. The recall notice was obviously sent to our old address and we never got it.

I took care of it online LINK. They gave me the option on repairing or a $514 rebate on a new one.
