Casamigos Anejo. I prefer it neat to sip (and I have to be in a mood for tequila), but if I were forced to take shot of tequila, it would be this.

Basically any real tequila, not the cheap fake shite like sauza or Jose cuervo. I usually go to a real liquor store (not the type that's on the corner in a ghetto where the homies buy their malt liquor) and I ask for the purveyor to make a recommendation.

This, my wife gets me a bottle for Christmas every year along with a pair of Darn Tough merino wool socks. It's the best and I think she get's it online somewhere for 95.00 a bottle.

Esparanto is my favorite sipping tequila. A bottle of the five year will set you back around $140. Only available in Mexico. For shots it's incredibly smooth. Lime and salt need not apply.

Usually for shots a repesado works just fine

I'm not big on mezcals either, seem to be more of a required taste
