Arnold Palmer to Tiger Woods when he complained about all the people wanting a piece of him.
"Get used to it or go out and get another job, these people pay your salary".

who was Kelley Slater. that's a monster list of "cool" guys in the column on the right side on the cover.
I loved Arnie for a while there. I played a lot of golf around his area.
When you are just on vacation, the green hills are pleasant.
in the winter its a horror story driving.

The guy who made surfing mainstream...and basically a real money-making sport with tons of endorsements.
Ranked 1st in the world: 1992, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011
I guess if you link surfing with skating...it would be maybe the Tony Hawk analogy in terms of drawing power and $$$$.

Arnold was definitely before my time. I guess old Jack is on the clock now. I hope it's a LOOONG clock, because that one will sting more.
My Dad nor I could have given a rats arse about golf in 1986. We stopped for that Masters though.

I once ordered an Arnold Palmer when I was out to dinner with my Grandma. After I expained to her what it was she told me: "I was at a New Year's Eve party with him in 1980 and he wasn't drinking lemonade."

There was a thread on Mylan Hicks, a CFL player who played at MSU recently, shot and killed this morning.

Nothing but respect for a man who would risk everything he owns to buy an engagement ring for the woman he would share such a wonderful life with.

One of my golf goals was to have an Arnold Palmer with the man himself. RIP Arnie. You will be missed.
