Crap. I knew it was bad, when he didn't come out for the Masters Par 3 tourney. I was at the course and apparently he tried to come out but was so sick they had to bring him back in.

Palmer made golf what it is today. No internet, very little TV coverage and he brought in fans like no other. The corporate world loved him and golf became popular TV with his army following.

His humility is still inspiring.

I was proud to be part of "Arnie's Army" as a kid. I still remember watching him on black and white TV in the early 60s. I was thrilled when I found out that I shared his September 10 birthday. He was a true gentleman and a credit to the game of golf.

R.I.P., Arnie.

Lee Trevino once said, 'Ninety-five percent of the people would rather watch Arnold Palmer unpack the trunk of his car than watch anyone else go out and play.'

Is this real???

ESPN, Golf Channel, CNN, NBC during MNF??

Nobody has mentioned this yet?

This man WAS golf to many generations!!

It would break news everywhere?

Only one Twitter dude and Golfweek? IDK what golfweek site is, but after opening it I get "celebrity funeral photo" ads.
