Discover just sent me a chip card to replace my current card. I'm still debating if I want to activate it.

Where is my foil hat?

Y'all realize why the chip cards are so much better than swipe cards and the implications on merchants who aren't yet setup for chip cards...right?

Don't. Instead, sharpen the edges of it and slash your wrists.
TIA

For me, they're a pain in the arse.

Bet you didn't know that foil on your head is not actually made of tin........OMG.....OH NOZ.
To your point though, I always carry about 300 cash on me, give or take 50, for those very reasons, and because my teenagers are always needing 20 bucks here, 40 bucks there.

I have most of my ball caps lined with tin...That I mined myself. I hide it well...you didn't even notice...
This past weekend I was taking to a buddy who was saying he had forgotten his check book and needed some cash...I said I have about 600 with me...He was kind of shocked...shite, I use almost NO cards...My spending is MY bidness.

They work great in Europe. Insert card and type pin - almost instant. My US experiences have been terribly mixed.

I dont mind the literal 5 extra seconds if it means better security.

thats really not how it works, in very basic layman's terms, it's a read/write; everytime you use the card a new encryption key is set on your card any data a theoretical thief pulls, is just useless character strings
Not Quite

So if you tilt your head to the left about 10 degrees, you can catch Japanese baseball game broadcasts.
Tilt your head to the right, you tune in to live European lesbian porn.
How cool.
I always knew you were a right leaning MFer

You realize that credit cards are safer and more advantageous all around, right?
1) If cash gets stolen, it's gone. If a card gets stolen, deactivate and get a new one.
2) Your CC company will dispute charges for you if there's a mistake. With cash, there's no record of anything, so you can forget it.
3) CC points for airline miles or cash back is legit and hugely worth it (obviously as long as you pay it off every month).
4) You really think the government is competent enough to keep track of you and everyone else through your CC?

The worst ones are people who write checks but wait until they hear the total to whip out their check book to start taking care of it. Like they are completely surprised they had to pay for their items. They could have had the check written waiting to fill in the total at that point.

I hate that you have to leave your card in the entire transaction. I hate having to sit there with my wallet in my hand. But it's a safer system, so I'll deal with it. I have been seen a couple that seemed faster. So hopefully it'll get quicker as it becomes more prevalent.

Our cafeteria at work has a man who works the cash register who is not completely blind, but close to it. Heaven forbid you don't follow his instructions to the damn letter for how to operate their credit card machine when you have a chipped card. You have to tell him what's showing on the screen and he'll tell you exactly what to do and you'd better not screw up.

Apple Pay is the way to go. It's all o used in Australia because I didn't know the pins to the cards with chips

The government tracking me is the price I'll gladly pay while I rack up mad credit card points.

If it takes long that means you have shitty credentials. I put mine in the chip reader, and it goes off quicker than me with a big titted redhead with no fire bush. I love them damn near opaque girls.
