Is AD smart enough to realize what that makes him in that relationship?

Durant didn't seem to care

Frankly, if NO becomes competitive and is perceived as a potential contender, the franchise will be able to sign FA's.

I have my doubt's maybe a few good role player where we have to stop over paying but no true star.

New Orleans is great for your average Joe but this isn't a rich mans city. A young black millionaire are doesn't care about the food, festivals, parades, and architecture. They like beach homes, nice cars ( you stand out here in any car nicer than a Benz), just living the rich mans life style. The only rich society we have is old money of 70 year old white country club men.

Night life and fine dining- Check
Good streets for nice cars - Nope
Good houses in nice areas in downtown/uptown - Nope
Beach - Nope
Big market size - Nope
Safety for family/friends/self - Nope
Great/Good Weather - Nope
Lots of opportunities for money/expansion/etc - Nope
Top tier schools for kids - Nope

comparing it to bigger markets who have them all.

i meant to add without having to walk a block or two over and it becoming a total shitshow.

That and we don't have many at all, a lot of the major cities/markets have rich arse neighborhoods (gated and all) closer to downtown than English turn is to NOLA.

Of the top 50 high schools in america:
2 are in LA
7 are in Dallas/Houston
3 are in Miami

Franklin is the highest LA ranked at #53 and there are a handful in the area who are really great as well, but in general some of the best schools are in those other cities.

I know, but Newman isn't even the best school in Louisiana. School may be the lowest priority to them on the list, but we don't offer as much as a city as Miami or LA.

Dining sure, but our night life is a different beast. It is a laid back and fun scene with great live music, but we don't have the clubs and talent that other cities have. Metro, Republic, Masquerade, Apres, Eiffel...etc. are pretty terrible compared to clubs in LA, NYC, MIA, and other cities.

I was just about to say this. Yeah the night life is cool for frat guys who like hand grenades, but there is no real "club scene" which NBA players seem to enjoy.

It's so old I can't find the quote, but I'm pretty sure Gordon's first night out on the town with his new teammates after he got traded he tweeted something about all the "poo girls" Might have been Ariza, but I'm pretty sure it was EG.

I mean y'all are right with the women and nightlife compared to LA Miami and NY but it's not like those cites have been getting all the best players lately. The best players want to win that will come first before anything

It's not that he's a terrible player, he's just not that good to command 20 million or more per year. He just isn't. Can't guard small, quick PG, not an elite shooter, not an elite ball handler, not an elite rebounder...he's a combo guard really, but he can't guard SG's
