Your post is generalizing all pot smokers as hippies sitting around eating cheetohs and listening to Grateful Dead. I personally know several very educated and very successful people that smoke daily.

Sure. I smoked for 18 years everyday. Smoked about a 1/4 of kb every week. Haven't smoked in 2 years and don't even think about it. Urges went away after about 6 months

I've picked up and dropped the habit a few times. The first few days after dropping it are always the toughest, but I find after about a week straight I feel back to "normal" and hardly think about it.

If weed is easily accessible and the only thing standing between it and you is your will power, it's very hard to not think about it and partake in it. Weed is awesome, I truly love it, but I can honestly say my life is better without it. I do appreciate the way it allowed me to think and experience things on different levels, but I've done it all now and any continued use is just redundant (everything in moderation...). I am ok with the smoke-free life and spending my energy and money on other more satisfying things.

My plan is to stay away from it for a long time, and hopefully around the time I retire around 2050 it will be legal and I'll be smoking J's on the golf course/beach/lake from time to time. Either that or I will get cancer at an early age and smoke it anyway to help my appetite.

If you're sitting around thinking about getting high, as opposed to thinking about how to get ahead in life, then you've got a drug problem.

The great thing about smoking as you get older is that it makes you realize more and more with each passing day that the "getting ahead" and "keeping up with the Joneses" thing that was drilled into you from birth is cultural conditioning bullshite. The quest for an endless amount of more worthless material shite and staying ahead of your neighbor is an exercise in futility and the reason so many Americans are fat, drug addicted, miserable people. The rat race will never make you truly fulfilled or happy. It may take some of you longer to realize it but somewhere around your mid thirties is when you start to wake up to the fact that it is all bullshite. Then you start working on improving yourself from the inside out and that is when life becomes meaningful and joyful. Weed, in moderation, can help this process greatly.

I'm not some loser pothead, I just like to smoke on the weekends and when I do things like hike, take the boat out, etc.

My main problem is the feeling of not being "allowed" to smoke. Screw authority, maaaannnn.

And this guy sums it up much more succinctly than I did. I should have read the entire thread before posting.

Never had them.

Meth urges did linger for quite a long time and still pop up. Crazy thing meth is not my drug of choice, it's blow or pains.

That is pretty pathetic to be honest. You sound like an extremely weak person. And I smoke on a fairly regular basis.

Why would you want it to?

Let the smoke do the thinking. The smoke will figure it out.

Yes daily. I wanted to pass a drug test so I just stopped. It was tough the first few weeks because the people I live with still smoke. Will power.

I think he's saying a quarter a week. That's not outrageous.

Lol. This is really dumb. Why is it extremely addictive? Because it is stronger? The only difference is it just takes less to get high. Nothing about the nature of the intoxication you get is different.

Okay Mr Hardass

30days sober was a little easier than 60 and 90. Im 16months sober and it's still an issue.

I never found weed addictive to begin with, but then again never liked it. Also wouldn't put it in an addictive category like pains and benzos.

i struggle with an addiction to benzodiazepines.

At the worst I was taking 15-20 blue footballs a day. Good thing I don't drink. I don't wish that on anyone and have been off of them completely for 2 months and I'm still having issues. Over the insomnia part finally.

Cannabis "addiction" is not even in the same universe.
