The marijuana now days is extremely addictive. Not physically but pyscologically. Which is the hardest addiction to handle. Sorry to hear about your struggles.

You obviously didn't smoke enough weed man. getting ahead in life is just an illusion. You learned nothing.

Were you a daily smoker?

Any drug, alchohol, marijuana, whatever alter the sleep cycle, if you use the drug with regularity. So depending on how long, how much, strength, tolerance, and a few other things, it could take awhile for YOUR natural sleep cycle to establish itself to its original rhythm. During this time of reestablishment you will not be sleeping as well, therefore you will not feel as well, you may feel edgy, suspicious, become easily angered, depressed and the urge to relapse will be stronger.

could take 6 months or a year for the Sleep Cycle to stabilize to YOUR natural rhythm. Sleep Cycle disturbance is the number 1 reason for relapse in all drug addictions, though it is rarely understood.

Makes a lot of sense. I naturally have insomnia, and anything I try to take to counteract it ends up causing a dependency, causing rebound insomnia worse than before for several days.

People who smoke weed every day have fewer friends, lower IQ, are less successful, report more emotional problems, less satisfaction with life, and have more health problems.

They think, however, that they are really cool and successful. And have life figured out. They're the ones who aren't learning anything.

I smoked occasionally in college and less frequently as years passed after graduating. 27 now and I'll get the urge when at some concerts/festivals and other social situations depending on the company but it's not an ever present urge... Just a "hmm it would be nice to smoke right now. Too bad I don't have any" kind of way.

3 times a day smoker for 6 years. I quit about 8 months ago and it took me about 3 months before it got easy. I still get the urge from time to time but nothing too bad. Exercise and a cold beer help.

It is really really tough to reestablish a sleep cycle once it has been altered by a drug of particularly long term use.

Obviously people are able to do it but it is tough ride to you get back to healthy sleep cycle of Light, Deep and Dream (REM) sleep.

Makes you think twice about using if you ever get it back, that is for sure

I used to smoke daily, as in all day every day kinda daily, for roughly 30 years. Got into an industry that drug tests and also where I am directly responsible for life and limb of others. No urge to smoke.

Now, when I retire and such, going somewhere and becoming a recreational farmer and spending my end years baked and baking sweets sounds nice. Much nicer than what we have in most places currently matter of fact.
