re: LSU fans - Tailgating and other advice for visitors - Tigerbait46
The ideal LSU road trip would be spending Friday night in New Orleans and then heading to BR early on Saturday, particularly if it's a night game and you have all day to tailgate. For your time on campus, take a look at the linked map: [link=(http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=2051...

Roadtrip: Atlanta to Blacksburg, VA - Tigerbait46
Roadtripping to Blacksburg, VA, and need some recommendations on pit stops, landmarks, site-seeing, tourist traps, etc... I have the whole day to make the trip and plan on making several stops. I also plan on going through Asheville instead of Charlotte for the more scenic route. ...

re: Why is LSU ranked 2nd to last academically in the SEC? - Tigerbait46
the best students in my high school class (in Louisiana) went to Rice and Vanderbilt. this supports the suggestion in a thread that the best ones go out of state.
This isn't unique to Louisiana and smart kids would be dumb to not consider attending elite institutions if they'r...

re: Why is LSU ranked 2nd to last academically in the SEC? - Tigerbait46
Schools like Alabama and Auburn are recruiting and throwing lots of money at the kids who just quite didn't make the cut getting into UT here in Austin.
Yeah, and LSU needs leadership to understand how they can effectively throw their hat in this ring. 80% of out-of-state students...

re: Why is LSU ranked 2nd to last academically in the SEC? - Tigerbait46
I'll also add that LSU (and other SEC schools) will always be in a hole as long as the populace of the state has the same demographics of being poorly educated and less wealthy relative to other states. Take a look at the list of top public schools... how many highly ranked schools are the flagship...

re: Why is LSU ranked 2nd to last academically in the SEC? - Tigerbait46
There are many reasons for the lower/mediocre ranking, but the reality is that LSU prepares Louisiana students for high quality jobs in the region, assuming the student puts in the effort. And they do it while not burdening students with debt. Earn good grades in business, engineering, pre-med, pr...

re: Places to eat Downtown ATL - Tigerbait46
Miso Izakaya
Have heard it's great. Pacific Rim is right by your hotel and has good sushi too. If you're willing to drive 10 minutes, you could check out Krog Street Market or Ponce City Market. Both are cool spots with full service restaurants and upscale dining halls. Park...

re: Places to eat Downtown ATL - Tigerbait46
ah kid in tow changes things. Alma is definitely still good but it's got a kind of modern/stylish vibe to it. A 5 year old would be fine though. Skip Meehan's as it's more of a pub environment. Max Lager's is basic American food and will please everyone. Big Kahuna is another option. Fu...

re: Places to eat Downtown ATL - Tigerbait46
What are you looking for? Price range? Eating solo, business, or family? The better restaurants are a quick 10 minute drive from downtown, but if you just want to walk somewhere from your hotel, I'd suggest the following: Upscale Morton's Ray's Polaris/Sun Dial - Overpriced food but ...

re: Best BBQ in Atlanta? - Tigerbait46
Smokebelly in Buckhead better than anyone on gives em credit for...
True. People discredit them because they're a more "upscale" bbq for the Buckhead crowd. I'd also add Sweet Auburn to the list. I could live off their brisket tacos and die happy....

re: bachelor party - Nashville or New Orleans? - Tigerbait46
Where is everyone coming from? If STL, the Nashville is an easy drive. New Orleans offers a lot more debauchery for a bachelor party and can be done entirely on foot if you're near the French Quarter. The bars are wilder, strip clubs are more accessible, and you can blow your money at Harrahs. ...

re: Planning a trip to Europe(Barcelona and Amsterdam) - Tigerbait46
Will you be in Spain on 8/31? If so, La Tomatina will be going on. Definitely consider checking it out. It's an easy train from Barcelona to Valencia, which is definitely worth a day visiting, and then a bus ride from Valencia to Bunol early in the morning. Quite possibly the most ridiculous ex...

Roth 401(k) to Roth IRA Conversion - Tigerbait46
I currently have a Roth 401(k) but not a Roth IRA. 17% of my paycheck goes into the Roth 401(k) - it's my sole retirement account and I'm happy with its performance. The rest of my take-home pay covers living expenses and sustains my 6 month emergency fund in savings. I could see a job-change with...

re: Sausage Party Hype and Review Thread - Tigerbait46
Laughed my arse off at times. Rolled my eyes at other times. Overall, I enjoyed it. Gotta go into it expecting a raunchy, over-the-top Seth Rogen indulgence. I'm 27 fwiw and could see how this wouldn't be as entertaining for the 30+ crowd, but would be a total riot for a group of college bros....
