re: bachelor party - Nashville or New Orleans? - Tigerbait46
Where is everyone coming from? If STL, the Nashville is an easy drive. New Orleans offers a lot more debauchery for a bachelor party and can be done entirely on foot if you're near the French Quarter. The bars are wilder, strip clubs are more accessible, and you can blow your money at Harrahs. ...

re: Planning a trip to Europe(Barcelona and Amsterdam) - Tigerbait46
Will you be in Spain on 8/31? If so, La Tomatina will be going on. Definitely consider checking it out. It's an easy train from Barcelona to Valencia, which is definitely worth a day visiting, and then a bus ride from Valencia to Bunol early in the morning. Quite possibly the most ridiculous ex...

Roth 401(k) to Roth IRA Conversion - Tigerbait46
I currently have a Roth 401(k) but not a Roth IRA. 17% of my paycheck goes into the Roth 401(k) - it's my sole retirement account and I'm happy with its performance. The rest of my take-home pay covers living expenses and sustains my 6 month emergency fund in savings. I could see a job-change with...

re: Sausage Party Hype and Review Thread - Tigerbait46
Laughed my arse off at times. Rolled my eyes at other times. Overall, I enjoyed it. Gotta go into it expecting a raunchy, over-the-top Seth Rogen indulgence. I'm 27 fwiw and could see how this wouldn't be as entertaining for the 30+ crowd, but would be a total riot for a group of college bros....

re: Hunt for the Wilderpeople - Tigerbait46
Really enjoyed this movie. Cinematography and music were great. Loved the kid actor. The trailer ruined most of the funny parts unfortunately, but still found myself chuckling throughout. ...
Thanks, that is what I'm thinking. It's just a 2.5 hour layover.
It's a nice airport too. Not a bad place to spend a few hours between flights....

re: Turkish Airlines - Houston to Istanbul - Tigerbait46
Top notch all around? Was the food good?
It was only a 3 hour flight so food wasn't served if I recall correctly. In comparison to US airlines, the plane was cleaner/newer and staff was friendly/young....

re: Turkish Airlines - Houston to Istanbul - Tigerbait46
I flew Turkish airlines to Istanbul from Barcelona a few years ago and it was top notch. Obviously, things are a bit unstable in Istanbul now, but if you're just connecting there and staying within the secured area, then I wouldn't worry too much....

re: Old Chimes Bookstore has new owner with plans for a bar/restaurant concept - Tigerbait46
It was constructed around 1930 and was the original Kappa Alpha fraternity house. In later years, an addition was placed on the front of the building. Greene says that addition will be removed to accommodate a patio and that the interior of the original building will be restored.
S...

re: Bankrupt and bailed out Greek Government approves $1M to build Athens Mosque - Tigerbait46
That's the part Amused and I are pointing out, not the fact that a mosque shouldn't be built and Christian churches should.
You know the only reason this thread was started is because a mosque being built. I'm not saying that you think tax dollars should be used for churches -- ...

re: Bankrupt and bailed out Greek Government approves $1M to build Athens Mosque - Tigerbait46
Freedom of religion is great. Gov't funding religion by taxing others isn't freedom
Greek citizens have been taxed to build beautiful churches all across the country. Why can't tax dollars also be used to build one mosque in a city of millions? Also, I don't see in the article ...

re: Bankrupt and bailed out Greek Government approves $1M to build Athens Mosque - Tigerbait46
To be fair, there have been plenty of Muslims in Athens for years and they have not been able to build a mosque. The mosque has also been approved and had the money set aside for several years. Freedom of religion is something we take for granted in the US. Imagine if you lived somewhere that...

re: Fun social experiment (Trump vs Clinton) - Tigerbait46
Trump - 18 Hillary - 11 I'm a millenial who grew up in the midwest, attended LSU, and currently lives in a large southern city. Given how low the numbers are for both candidates (I have 800+ "friends"), it appears most people I know are as disenchanted with both candidates as I am. ETA: ...

re: Scotland Golf Trip - Tigerbait46
My cousin makes this trip almost annually and I joined him a few years back. He planned everything out and booked all courses and lodging on his own instead of doing a package. It worked out great, but it's definitely an expensive trip. each round at the historic courses is probably $200+, not i...
